About Us
We're a US-based home décor company with 25+ years in business, selling premium cowhide and sheepskin rugs direct to consumers and to interior designers. We also operate a small portfolio of self-storage properties. We are bringing our email and SMS program fully in-house and building a permanent internal team.

This is not an agency seat and not a project. We're hiring people we intend to keep for years.

What You'll Do
You own how every email looks. Right now our emails are built by an outside agency and the design quality is not where it needs to be. Your job is to fix that permanently.

Build a modular template system in Klaviyo — hero blocks, product blocks, offer badges, review blocks, footers — so campaigns get assembled from proven components instead of designed from scratch every time
Design and build every campaign email, start to finish, inside Klaviyo
Design and build website popups
Create MMS image assets for SMS sends
Produce promotional graphics for landing pages and site banners
Maintain three visually distinct brand systems: our consumer brand (warm, editorial, "Architectural Digest meets Serena & Lily"), our trade brand (restrained, dark, masculine), and our storage properties (clean, simple, functional)

You will work from written brand guidelines. Following them precisely matters more here than personal style.

Requirements
2+ years designing emails that actually got sent — not mockups, not concepts
Hands-on Klaviyo experience building templates in the drag-and-drop editor
Working knowledge of HTML email and inline CSS — you can go into the code when the drag-and-drop editor can't do what you need
Figma or Photoshop at a professional level
You understand why email design is different from web design: 600px max width, inline CSS only, web-safe font fallbacks, no reliance on background images
Strong mobile-first instincts — most of our audience reads on a phone
Clear written English

Nice to Have
Experience designing for more than one brand at a time
Shopify familiarity
Photo retouching and product image prep
Tools & Working Conditions
We use Insightful for time tracking on all remote hourly roles. It runs during your paid hours and tracks activity and screenshots. This is non-negotiable and disclosed here so there are no surprises.
Other tools: Klaviyo, Attentive, Asana, Shopify, Figma, Google Workspace

Describe a brand whose design you admire and explain specifically what they do well in their emails. Not "clean design" — be specific.
