We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team and estimate jobs for commercial electrical projects ranging from $20,000USD to $200,000USD. This role is for someone who has spent many years estimating small-to-mid-size commercial jobs in the U.S., understands real production rates, and uses modern estimating/takeoff software.
Responsibilities
Prepare accurate, detailed electrical estimates for commercial projects ($20k–$200k USD).
Perform material takeoffs, labor calculations, and proposal development.
Review plans, specs, addenda, and job walks; identify value-engineering opportunities.
Coordinate with lead estimator, project managers, and leadership.
Maintain historical cost data and improve estimating accuracy over time.
Use estimating and takeoff software and recommend tools that improve speed and accuracy.
Requirements
8+ years of U.S. electrical estimating experience in residential and commercial work.
Proven success estimating projects in the $20k–$200k USD range.
Proficiency with electrical estimating software (e.g., ConEst, McCormick, TurboBid, Accubid, or similar).
Strong plan-reading skills, NEC comprehension, and knowledge of labor units and production rates.
Ability to communicate clearly, work independently, and meet deadlines.
High attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
Preferred
Experience with digital takeoff tools.
Familiarity with local suppliers, pricing, and typical scopes.
