Ecommerce Web Designer | Figma & Conversion Rate Optimization
**Chapie is a U.S. consumer brand that makes vacuum-insulated cases designed to protect lip balm, cosmetics, and everyday essentials from heat.** Our brand combines functional product innovation with colorful designs and collectible collections. Learn more at **
Your primary focus will be designing product pages and landing pages that look excellent, explain our products clearly, and help turn visitors into customers.
**We’re planning to redesign most of our website, with plenty of hours available for the right person.** You’ll work directly with the founder and our developer as part of our team, with room to bring your own ideas and help shape the website.
This is a design role. **Our developer will build your designs in Shopify, so coding skills are not required.**
## What You'll Do
- Design complete ecommerce product pages and landing pages in Figma for mobile and desktop
- Research our products, customers, and competitors to understand selling points and purchase objections
- Structure pages with clear headlines, benefits, demonstrations, comparisons, reviews, FAQs, and calls to action
- Create graphics that explain product features, dimensions, compatibility, and use cases
- Improve product selection and make the purchasing process easier
- Recommend copy and messaging that communicate value and build customer confidence
- Deliver organized Figma files with reusable components, assets, and clear developer instructions
- Review completed pages with our developer to ensure they match your designs
- Suggest improvements and design variations for conversion testing
## Tools
You should be comfortable with:
- Figma, including Auto Layout, components, prototyping, and developer handoff
- Graphic design tools for creating and editing website assets
- Shopify storefront layouts and common ecommerce functionality
Experience using analytics, heatmaps, session recordings, or A/B testing tools is a plus.
## What We're Looking For
- Excellent visual taste and a strong portfolio of ecommerce product pages
- Advanced Figma skills
- Strong understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO) and mobile shopping behavior
- Ability to turn technical product features into clear benefits and compelling visuals
- Strong typography, spacing, layout, and visual hierarchy
- Clear English communication and strong attention to detail
- Ability to explain the reasoning behind your design decisions
- Someone who works independently, meets deadlines, and reviews their work before submitting it
- Someone who cares about how a page performs as well as how it looks
We want a designer who thinks through the entire shopping experience: what customers need to understand, what might stop them from buying, and how the page can help them make a decision.
**This is intended to be a long-term role**, with opportunities for increased responsibility, compensation, and creative ownership as you grow with us.
