About the Role
We're a growing ecommerce team selling in the French market (with the UK market launching soon), looking for a dependable Customer Support Representative who can take ownership of customer concerns and see them through to resolution.
Our customers write mostly in French, so you'll respond to them primarily in French. You don't need to be a native French speaker — we provide ready-made templates and SOPs, and you're free to use translation tools (DeepL, ChatGPT) — but you must be comfortable reading, understanding, and replying to French messages accurately and professionally. Fluent written English is also required, as all internal communication with the founder, the team, and our suppliers happens in English.
Beyond customer-facing support, you'll also coordinate directly with our suppliers — for example to cancel or modify orders, request shipping updates, and chase tracking information — so customers always get accurate, up-to-date answers.
You'll work directly with the founder in a small team that values initiative, accountability, and clear communication.
This is a part-time role with a split schedule: you'll check in three times a day (morning, afternoon, and evening) for one hour each, every day of the week, including weekends. This keeps response times fast for our customers without requiring you to be online all day.
Who We're Looking For
At least 1–2 years of hands-on experience in direct-to-consumer (DTC) ecommerce customer support.
Ability to handle customer messages in French (with the help of templates and translation tools) — experience supporting French-speaking customers is a big plus.
Fluent written English for internal and supplier communication.
Experience handling orders, refunds, returns, and billing questions.
Experience communicating with suppliers or fulfillment agents (order changes, cancellations, tracking requests) is a strong plus.
Clear, warm, and professional written communication.
The ability to stay calm and empathetic when dealing with frustrated customers.
Confidence following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and working independently.
Familiarity with payment disputes and chargeback prevention.
Availability to work the fixed split schedule listed above (morning, afternoon, and evening check-ins), including weekends.
Interest in a stable, long-term position.
Previous DTC ecommerce support experience is required for this role.
