JOB OVERVIEW

The ideal candidate will be responsible for refining ebooks and books generated by our internal AI system, making them more engaging, human-sounding, accurate, and error-free. This role involves correcting grammatical mistakes, improving clarity and readability, enhancing the value of the content, and ensuring the manuscript aligns with the client’s expectations for a polished, professional final product.

The editor will work with a prewritten draft created by AI. Your primary focus is to elevate the content through precise, detail-oriented editing—making small but impactful improvements that enhance flow, structure, tone, and usefulness for the intended audience. You should be able to spot inconsistencies, content gaps, weak explanations, or missing context, and fill them in as needed based on the project brief.

We are specifically looking for someone who has strong experience with proofreading, copyediting, and more complex editorial work—even before the rise of AI tools. Your expertise in traditional editing will help us merge high-quality editorial standards with our innovative AI-driven systems to create a smooth, modern workflow.

You will also play a valuable role in helping us improve our internal processes. As you work with our drafts, we expect you to give us feedback and help identify areas where our systems can be refined so we can consistently deliver better, more accurate first drafts to you and the rest of our editing team.

Responsibilities:

- Edit and proofread ebooks and books for grammar, clarity, tone, structure, and readability.
- Enhance AI-generated drafts to make them engaging, accurate, and aligned with the intended audience.
- Improve content using small but meaningful edits rather than rewriting the entire draft.
- Ensure the manuscript meets the client’s brief, style preferences, and project goals.
- Identify and address content gaps, unclear explanations, or inconsistencies.
- Conduct light research when necessary to strengthen sections or add missing context.
- Provide insights and suggestions to help us improve our AI prompts, templates, and systems.
- Prepare clean, polished documents ready for formatting and design.

Requirements:

- Strong experience in proofreading, copyediting, and substantive/complex editing (prior to AI).
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to elevate AI-generated content.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to interpret and meet client expectations while maintaining content accuracy.
- Familiarity with Google Docs and ChatGPT (or willingness to learn quickly).
- Creative thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to enhance content quality.
- Full fluency in American English, including grammar, spelling, and style conventions.
- Experience with ebooks, book editing, digital products, or Amazon KDP is a strong advantage.

P.S. We are looking for someone who can work consistently almost every day during the week. You don’t need to start full time, but we require at least 20–25 hours per week from the beginning. We receive new orders almost daily, and we want you to be able to take on projects promptly. As we continue to scale, this role can grow into a full-time, long-term partnership with even more hours and ongoing work.

Looking forward to working together!
Tomas Placko
