Position summary
LKD Corp is seeking an Earned Value / Project Controls Analyst to own the data pipeline that turns Primavera P6 schedule exports into executive-ready progress curves and earned value reporting inside ChameLeon, our project controls platform. This role sits at the intersection of scheduling data and client-facing reporting: you will take raw P6 data dumps, structure and validate them, load them into ChameLeon, and produce the progress curves and earned value metrics that our clients rely on to understand project health.
This is a hands-on analyst role for someone who is comfortable in the weeds of schedule data and equally comfortable explaining what that data means. You will work directly with the Principal on live capital project engagements.
Key responsibilities
• Extract, compile, and validate schedule data from Primavera P6 exports (XER files and tabular data dumps), including activity data, resource and cost loading, WBS structures, and progress records.
• Clean and normalize raw P6 output into the structured format required by ChameLeon, resolving data quality issues such as missing baselines, inconsistent activity coding, and orphaned or duplicated records.
• Build and maintain progress curves (planned, earned, and actual) at project, discipline, and area levels.
• Calculate and quality-check earned value metrics including BCWS, BCWP, ACWP, SV, CV, SPI, CPI, and forecast indicators such as EAC and TCPI.
• Reconcile progress measurement against the approved progress measurement system — rules of credit, weightings, and quantity-based tracking.
• Investigate and explain period-over-period variances, flagging anomalies in the source data before they reach a client deliverable.
• Produce recurring reporting packages and dashboard outputs for client project teams and executive stakeholders.
• Document the data preparation workflow so it is repeatable, auditable, and transferable across projects.
• Provide structured feedback to the ChameLeon development effort on data handling pain points, import failures, and workflow improvements.
Required qualifications
• 3+ years of project controls experience on capital construction, energy, or infrastructure projects.
• Working proficiency in Primavera P6, including exporting and interpreting XER data and understanding schedule structure, logic, and resource/cost loading.
• Demonstrated experience with earned value management, progress measurement systems, and rules of credit.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup and reference functions, and handling large datasets.
• Strong attention to data integrity, with the judgment to recognize when source data is wrong rather than simply processing it.
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to project managers and executives who are not schedulers.
Preferred qualifications
• Experience on owner-side or owner’s representative engagements.
• Familiarity with cost management systems (SAP, Ecosys, Oracle Unifier, or similar).
• Exposure to Power BI, SQL, or Python for data handling and reporting automation.
• AACE certification (EVP, PSP, CCP) or progress toward one.
• Experience working with quantity-based progress measurement on engineering and construction scopes.
What success looks like
In the first 90 days, this person is independently turning a P6 data dump into a validated set of progress curves in ChameLeon without rework, and is catching data problems before the Principal does.
