MAVI is an AI-powered finance and accounting talent platform that connects exceptional global professionals with high-growth US companies.
Built by leaders with experience at Lyft, Ramp, and SoftBank, MAVI goes beyond traditional recruiting. We build long-term partnerships between talented accounting professionals and companies transforming the future of finance.
As a professional placed through MAVI, you receive support throughout the entire journey — from role alignment and interview preparation to onboarding, integration, and long-term career growth.
This opportunity is with one of our clients, a high-growth US company working at the intersection of finance, accounting, technology, and ERP transformation.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an ERP Implementation Accountant to support accounting and financial data migration projects for US-based companies.
This is not primarily a software configuration role. It is a hands-on accounting role focused on ensuring that historical financial information is accurately transferred from legacy accounting platforms into a modern ERP system.
You will work with real financial data, collaborate with US-based finance stakeholders, and take ownership of ensuring that every balance, transaction, account, vendor, customer, and reporting field is migrated accurately and completely.
Your work will directly determine whether each implementation is clean, reliable, and ready for go-live.
What You’ll Do
• Support ERP and accounting system implementation projects from an accounting and financial data perspective
• Extract historical financial data from systems such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, Sage, and similar platforms
• Clean, organize, and map financial data to the new general ledger, chart of accounts, entity, and reporting structure
• Prepare and execute journal entry, trial balance, opening balance, and historical transaction uploads
• Map accounts, vendors, customers, departments, entities, and other accounting dimensions
• Upload and validate bills, invoices, contracts, and supporting accounting schedules
• Reconcile financial data between legacy accounting systems and the new ERP
• Perform detailed reconciliations across cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, and other key accounts
• Compare closing balances in the source system against opening balances in the new system
• Identify, investigate, and resolve migration discrepancies before go-live
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance throughout the implementation process
• Collaborate with internal implementation teams and US-based finance stakeholders
• Communicate migration progress, risks, discrepancies, and required decisions clearly
• Document migration steps and contribute to SOPs, quality standards, and reusable workflows
• Support multiple implementation projects while maintaining strong accuracy and ownership
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience
• 1+ years of US GAAP experience
• Hands-on accounting experience across reconciliations, general ledger, AP, AR, month-end close, or financial reporting
• Experience supporting ERP implementation, accounting system migration, finance transformation, or financial data migration projects
• Experience working with US-based companies, clients, or accounting teams
• Strong reconciliation experience, especially with large volumes of financial data
• Strong understanding of US GAAP principles, standards, and regulations
• Experience ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance during accounting or system-related projects
• Proficiency in at least one accounting platform such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, Sage, or a comparable ERP
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Comfortable working directly with US-based clients and stakeholders
• Strong project management, coordination, and follow-through skills
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal oversight
Strongly Preferred
• Direct client-facing ERP implementation or migration experience
• Experience migrating financial data from one accounting platform to another
• Hands-on exposure to data extraction, mapping, cleanup, validation, and reconciliation
• Background in a CPA firm, bookkeeping firm, outsourced accounting company, SaaS company, or ERP implementation environment
• Experience working with large transaction volumes or multi-entity accounting
• Familiarity with SaaS accounting concepts such as ASC 606, deferred revenue, ARR, MRR, and revenue waterfalls
• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or equivalent accounting certification
Who Will Thrive in This Role
You are someone who takes ownership of the numbers.
When a balance does not match, you do not stop at identifying the issue — you investigate the root cause, understand what • went wrong, and drive the discrepancy through resolution.
You are comfortable working with complex datasets, imperfect historical information, and high-stakes implementation timelines. You bring structure to ambiguity, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and take pride in producing financial data others can trust.
You move with urgency, but never at the expense of accuracy.
