JOB OVERVIEW

We are an established custom golf gear and apparel manufacturing brand currently operating on WooCommerce. We are seeking a skilled e-commerce developer with hands-on experience building visual product configurators and troubleshooting complex feed architectures. Our immediate priorities are building our interactive product builder on Kickflip, solving Google Merchant Center product variation feed issues and bot crawling bottlenecks, cleaning up our current WooCommerce plugin stack, and preparing for an eventual migration to Shopify. In order to be considered, when you apply to this job write the word yothar in the subject line when you contact us and include an audio file or link of you talking so that we can hear your English prior to interviewing you.

Core Responsibilities (In Order of Priority):
1) Kickflip Product Configurator Build-Out (Primary Focus):
*Work on the setup, asset mapping, and conditional logic configuration for our custom golf headcovers and gear inside the Kickflip platform.
*Configure multi-view options, color palettes, material layers, text personalization, and custom logo upload features.
*Ensure customizer output cleanly maps print-ready production files, preview render URLs, and line-item properties directly into the cart and checkout payloads.

2) WooCommerce Plugin Audit & Conflict Resolution:
*Audit our current WordPress/WooCommerce plugin stack (SiteGround environment) to eliminate redundancies, database bloat, and filter/hook conflicts.
*Safely deprecate, remove, or consolidate unnecessary plugins without breaking checkout workflows or our live conversion tracking.
*Streamline site speed, reduce heavy database queries, and clean up asset loading across product and checkout pages.

3)Google Merchant Center & Variation Feed Management:
*Audit and resolve product feed errors in Google Merchant Center (GL&A / custom feeds), specifically around parent-child variation mapping, item_group_id, color/material attributes, and missing identifiers.
*Optimize server response, caching, and WooCommerce dynamic URLs to ensure Google Ads and Google Shopping bots crawl variant parameters efficiently without server timeouts or index bloat.
*Ensure customizer products have clear base-product representation in Shopping feeds while custom configurations stay within Merchant Center specifications.

4) Shopify Architecture & Migration Planning:
*Evaluate our current product catalog, variation structures, and Kickflip setups for a future transition from WooCommerce over to Shopify.
*Advise on Shopify Online Store 2.0 theme architecture, native web pixels, and collection/variant setups to ensure zero downtime or conversion data loss when the migration takes place.

Requirements & Qualifications:
*Direct, verifiable experience building or integrating visual customizers/configurators (specifically Kickflip; experience with Zakeke or similar visual engines is also relevant).

*Strong WooCommerce backend proficiency (PHP, WordPress hooks/filters, REST API, MySQL, plugin conflict debugging).

*Technical knowledge of Google Merchant Center feeds, Shopping attributes (item_group_id, variant titling, GTIN/MPN exemptions), and handling bot crawl behavior on dynamic variant pages.

*Working knowledge of Shopify development (Liquid, Shopify Online Store 2.0, Theme App Extensions, line-item properties).

*Understanding of e-commerce conversion tracking (Google Ads conversion actions, enhanced conversions, server-side data layers) so code and feed edits never interrupt ad attribution.

*Excellent written English and proactive communication during project milestones.
The applicant will need to work on US Central Time zone, 9AM-5PM M-F, 40 hrs/week with weekends off. Depending on qualifications and experience, there may be some flexibility potential with working hours.

Here are some questions for extra credit:
1) "How do you pass Kickflip render URLs and personalized print specs into cart/order line items without bloating checkout load times or database storage?"
2) "What is your protocol for auditing/removing WooCommerce plugins without breaking active Google Ads conversion tags, server datalayers, or dynamic value reporting?"
3) "How do you structure complex customizable product feeds in Google Merchant Center to prevent bot crawl traps, server timeouts, and variant disapprovals?"
