Please read the whole description in order to be considered:
We are a growing E-Commerce business managing thousands of transactions monthly along with having over 20,000 different variant SKU’s/products, looking for an E-Commerce ROCKSTAR. We sell on most/all platforms and need someone familiar with the entire ecosystem. Inventory is always the most difficult task to manage so someone who has experience with COGS and thoroughly understands clearing accounts. We need someone who can work as a team and has expertise in this specific area, not just general accounting; this is highly specific to our industry (e-commerce) accounting.
This is not an entry-level position, so do not apply if you are new to the accounting industry. That is why we are looking for a rockstar. Someone who likes accounting and takes pride in having the best analytics and reporting. Please do not lie, I will find out in the interview so it’s better to save yours and my time. During the interview, I would like specific scenarios where you have dealt with this ecosystem and what you did to solve them.
Please start your cover letter with the title/words "Bookkeeping Rockstar" - so we know you read the description.
One of the biggest struggles is always dealing with the clearing accounts for the various channels we sell with – provide an example of how you delt with clearing accounts previously and what experience you have related to how they work on the balance sheet and profit & loss. Provide all explanations of every software you have used and what training you have taken with that software.
Our current software stack includes
QuickBooks Online
Shopify
Amazon (multiple stores and countries – so different currencies)
A2X – please be familiar with how this software summarizes and how reconciliation works with this software
Finale Inventory for our Inventory Management System – please list all IMS software that you have experience with
PayPal
eBay
TikTok
Instagram
Excel & Google Sheets – we use both for different reasons
Microsoft teams
Managing databases (strong excel skills, pivot tables, filters, sorting, attention to detail for matching)
Main accounting principles we want to be sure you understand
Clearing Accounts – how sales, fees, refunds, chargebacks, and sales tax affect them
COGS – how to best approach variances, purchase orders, identifying major issues
We are not looking for a specific number of years that you have spent in accounting – we want to hear what results you have provided and how you got those results. This takes critical thinking because of the fast-changing rules in E-Commerce and the changes these marketplaces make regularly and how those affect the bookkeeping. This job does require fluency in English. Initially the hours will be 9-5 Eastern time US, we are based out of Florida. There will be some flexibility in hours in the future but will require you to be available during some US hours (either 9-12 or 2-5) but this will not be until you are trained and have an understanding of how our accounting is managed.
