Join our SaaS Customer Engagement Platform company as a Remote DevOps Engineer. We are looking for a highly motivated, self-starting candidate who is ready to take ownership of our infrastructure and security compliance initiatives.
Role Description
As a DevOps Engineer, you'll own the full lifecycle of our cloud infrastructure and deployment systems. You'll build CI/CD pipelines, manage Azure resources, drive security certification initiatives, and work with our team to optimize costs. We're looking for someone with genuine drive and curiosity who digs into problems, learns quickly, and keeps pushing forward. You don't need to know everything on day one, but you need the hunger to master it.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Deployment
- Architect, develop, deploy, and evolve CI/CD systems for our cloud applications
- Write application deployment automation using industry-standard tools like Jenkins
- Deploy and manage Azure services including App Services, SQL Database, and Virtual Machines
- Monitor system performance and respond to monitoring alerts
- Provide systems support and perform emergency deployments outside standard hours when needed
Security Certifications & Compliance
- Lead the initiative to achieve and maintain key security certifications including ISO 27001 and FedRAMP
- Develop a strategic roadmap for pursuing multiple certifications, identifying overlaps and dependencies
- Execute certification initiatives incrementally, building knowledge and compliance over time
- Write comprehensive documentation for security certification applications and audits
- Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure
Data & Database Management
- Demonstrate strong understanding of database systems including MongoDB and SQL databases
- Implement and manage backup strategies and disaster recovery procedures
- Apply security best practices in data storage, access, and management
Cost Optimization
- Identify and recommend Azure cost-saving opportunities and optimization techniques
- Collaborate with development teams to determine cost-efficient architectural solutions
- Provide guidance on resource utilization and cloud spending optimization
User & System Administration
- Manage Active Directory administration including adding users, setting up new employees and contractors
- Provide configuration support and troubleshooting for employees and contractors as needed

Foundational Experience (You'll grow from here)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD concepts and tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions
- Working knowledge of Azure cloud platform
- Understanding of GitHub for version control and collaboration
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Pingdom, DataDog, New Relic, or similar)
- Basic familiarity with databases and scripting/automation concepts
- Willingness to perform deployment tasks during off-hours in emergency situations
