This is not an entry-level administrative position. We need a billing specialist who understands dental/orthodontic claims, EOBs/ERAs, payer portals, account reconciliation, and denial follow-ups. If you have hands-on experience handling high-volume billing accounts accurately and efficiently, we would love to have you on our team!
Key Responsibilities
1. Insurance Billing & Claims Management
Submit clean, accurate dental and orthodontic insurance claims.
Conduct insurance verification and benefit checks prior to treatment.
Proactively track claims, follow up with insurance providers, and resolve unpaid, delayed, or underpaid claims.
Draft and submit formal appeals with required supporting documentation.
Maintain clear logs of payer communications and claims status updates.
2. Payment Posting & Financial Reconciliation
Post insurance and patient payments accurately using EOBs and ERAs.
Apply correct fee adjustments and maintain accurate patient account balances.
Reconcile posted payments against expected reimbursement schedules.
Identify discrepancies, unposted funds, or incorrect adjustments and flag issues promptly.
Generate and review patient billing statements for outstanding balances.
3. Accounts Receivable & Patient Support
Monitor aging A/R reports and execute timely follow-ups on delinquent accounts.
Ensure all patient billing records and notes remain up to date, accurate, and audit-ready.
Address patient billing inquiries courteously and professionally.
Qualifications & Requirements
Must-Haves:
Proven experience in dental or orthodontic insurance billing for U.S. practices.
Hands-on expertise in claim submission, payment posting, EOB/ERA interpretation, and accounts receivable follow-up.
High attention to detail and strong organizational habits.
Excellent written and verbal English skills.
Ability to work full-time during U.S. business hours.
Reliable workstation setup: High-speed internet, backup connection, quiet work space, and PC/laptop.

Direct experience with orthodontic billing.
Hands-on knowledge of dental/ortho systems: Ortho2 Edge, Cloud 9, Dolphin, Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft, etc.
Familiarity with CDT coding and orthodontic treatment plans.
Background handling Medicaid/Medicare or state insurance programs.
Prior experience managing claims denials and appeals for U.S. healthcare providers.
