The Role
We're looking for a DTC AI Video Editor with proven experience working with 7-, 8- or 9-figure e-commerce brands.
You need to understand direct response, not just editing.
Our creative strategists will provide the script, angle and brief — roughly 50% of the ad. Your job is to own the other 50%:
- Choose the strongest footage from our B-roll library.
- Identify where the concept needs stronger or more specific visuals.
- Generate new AI content when existing footage isn't good enough.
- Make every visual congruent with the script, hook and emotional beat.
- Edit for attention, clarity, retention and conversion.
- Proactively improve the visual concept rather than simply executing instructions.
The goal isn't to make videos that look good. The goal is to make ads that perform.
What You'll Own
You'll be responsible for producing a minimum of 12–15 finished concepts per week, with some concepts requiring original AI content generation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Editing short-form DTC direct-response ads across multiple formats.
- Translating scripts and briefs into strong visual narratives.
- Selecting B-roll based on the psychology and intent of each line.
- Generating missing visuals using AI rather than settling for weak footage.
- Creating high-quality AI UGC, animation and other AI-native creative formats.
- Using tools/models such as Higgsfield, Seedance and Kling to a professional standard.
- Building strong hooks, pattern interrupts, pacing and visual escalation.
- Maintaining script-to-visual congruence throughout every creative.
- Finding ways to increase viewer retention without distracting from the sales message.
- Bringing new visual ideas to the creative strategists.
- Learning from winning and losing ads and improving future execution accordingly.
- Taking ownership of the finished creative rather than waiting to be told exactly what to do.
Who We're Looking For
Non-negotiables
- Proven video-editing experience with successful DTC/e-commerce brands, ideally at 7-, 8- or 9-figure scale.
- Strong knowledge of direct-response advertising fundamentals.
- A portfolio demonstrating performance-focused paid social creative — not only polished brand content.
- High-level AI content generation ability.
- Hands-on experience with modern AI video workflows, ideally including Higgsfield, Seedance and Kling.
- Ability to create convincing AI UGC, animation and other visual formats.
- Strong instinct for matching visuals to copy.
- Understanding of hooks, pacing, pattern interrupts, curiosity, emotion, proof and retention.
- Ability to work at volume without allowing quality to collapse.
- Comfortable receiving a brief and independently solving visual problems.
The mindset
We're looking for someone who is:
- Obsessed with getting better.
- Extremely motivated.
- Proactive rather than reactive.
- Comfortable taking ownership.
- Curious about why an ad works, not merely how it was edited.
- Hungry to become an elite direct-response marketer, not just an editor.
- Excited by a fast-moving environment where standards continue to rise.
If you need every visual decision mapped out for you before you can start editing, this isn't the right role.
What Great Looks Like
A great editor on our team doesn't read a line in a script and ask:
> "What clip should I put here?"
>
They ask:
> "What does the viewer need to see here for this line to hit as hard as possible?"
>
If the right clip exists in the B-roll folder, use it.
If it doesn't, create it.
If the brief can be made stronger visually, say so and improve it.
You should be thinking about:
- What stops the scroll?
- Does the first visual strengthen the hook?
- Is every shot supporting what the voiceover is saying?
- Where could attention drop?
- Can this claim be demonstrated instead of stated?
- Is there a stronger visual proof?
- Does the edit build desire, belief or curiosity with every beat?
- What could we generate that would make this concept substantially stronger?
AI Capability
AI generation is a core part of this role — not an optional extra.
You should be comfortable generating production-ready creative across formats such as:
- AI UGC
- Character-led scenes
- Product-integrated scenes
- Cinematic B-roll
- Animations
- Visual metaphors
- Scroll-stopping hook visuals
- Scenes that would be difficult or expensive to shoot traditionally
We want to see real examples of your AI work and understand which tools/models you used to produce them.
Output & Working Rhythm
- Minimum 12–15 concepts per week.
- Mix of traditional editing and AI-assisted/generated concepts.
- Fast iteration based on creative feedback and performance learnings.
- Consistent communication with our creative strategists.
- High standards for both speed and execution.
We care about output, but volume without quality is not the goal. We want someone capable of building a repeatable workflow that delivers both.
Growth Opportunity
This is intended to be a long-term position.
For the right person, there is a clear opportunity to grow into:
- Lead Video Editor, taking ownership of editing standards and potentially helping develop other editors.
- Creative Strategist, if you develop strong enough direct-response, research and concepting ability.
We'll actively coach and train you in direct response while you work with us. We want someone who wants to compound their skill set and become a significantly stronger marketer over time.
Team Environment
You'll be joining a fast-growing DTC e-commerce brand with a highly driven team.
We're ambitious about where we're taking the brand, and creative is one of the most important growth levers in the business.
That means this role comes with real ownership and real expectations.
Only apply if you're genuinely excited by a fast-moving, high-performance environment and want to take responsibility for an area that directly impacts the growth of the company.
Application Process
Start your application with the word “STRATEGIST”
If your application doesn't begin with that word, we'll assume you haven't read the full brief.
Then include:
- A short introduction and the DTC brands you've worked with.
- Links to your 3–5 strongest direct-response ads.
- Links to your best AI-generated video work.
- The AI tools/models you currently use and what you use each for.
- A brief explanation of your goals/vision for role development over the next 1-2 years.
