We're a growing DTC wellness brand looking for a full-time Creative Strategist to lead our ad creative pipeline. You'll research winning ads, build creative briefs, and manage video editors to produce high-performing VSLs, UGCs, and ad creatives for Meta and TikTok.
You're the bridge between strategy and execution - you find what's working, turn it into a brief, and make sure the final output is ready to run.
What You'll Do:
- Research competitors and top-performing ads in the health/wellness space using tools like Gethookd, Meta Ad Library, and TikTok Creative Center
- Identify winning hooks, structures, angles, and emotional triggers worth modeling
- Analyze and break down winning competitor VSLs - identify what makes them work (hooks, story structure, CTAs, pacing)
- Model and write VSL scripts adapted for our product, including scene directions, visual cues, and voiceover copy
- Write multiple hook variations per script for creative testing
- Build creative briefs for video editors including scripts, visual direction, reference videos, and asset lists
- Manage and give feedback to 3+ video editors through revision rounds until final delivery
- Ensure all creatives are compliant with Meta and TikTok ad policies (no direct medical claims)
- Deliver final ad-ready assets to media buyers on a weekly cycle
- Track creative performance and use data to inform future briefs and scripts
Must-Haves:
- 3+ years in performance marketing, creative strategy, or ad production for DTC/e-commerce brands
- Deep understanding of direct-response ads - VSLs, UGCs, advertorials
- Copywriting and scriptwriting skills — ability to model winning ad structures and adapt them for a different product
- Understanding of direct-response frameworks (problem-agitate-solve, story-lead, listicles, etc.)
- Experience managing editors or creative teams
- Excellent written communication for briefs and feedback
- Organized and deadline-driven - comfortable managing multiple projects in Asana
- Available full-time (40 hrs/week)
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience in health, wellness, or supplement brands
- Familiarity with AI tools (Claude, Kling, Higgsfield) for creative workflows
- Background in UGC scripting and creator management
- Experience with TikTok Shop content
- Portfolio showing ads you've strategized that scaled profitably
