Creative Strategist — DTC Pet Brand (Meta Ads)
Immediate Start | Long-Term Position
We're a fast-growing ecommerce brand in the pet health space — we sell a hip & joint supplement that helps dogs with mobility and joint issues. We're looking for a Creative Strategist who lives and breathes direct-response advertising and knows how to turn competitor research and market insight into winning Meta ad concepts.
This is not a video editing or design role. You won't be cutting the videos or designing the statics yourself. You're the brain behind what gets made and why — the bridge between research, our creators, and results.
What you'll be doing:
Research & competitor intelligence
Study competitor ads daily (Meta Ad Library, TikTok, viral content) and identify winning hooks, angles and formats
Understand why an ad works — the emotion, the audience, the psychology behind it — not just that it's running
Track what's scaling in our niche and spot trends early
Concepting & strategy
Turn that research into fresh ad concepts and angles mapped to our brand and to each stage of customer awareness (unaware → problem → solution → product → offer)
D
Keep a constant pipeline of new ideas to test
Briefing
Write clear, detailed creative briefs and scripts for our video editors and designers — hook, script, visual direction, format, and the "why" behind it
Make briefs so clear that creators can execute without guesswork
Analysis & iteration
Review creative performance, understand which ads win and why, and feed that back into the next round of concepts
Work in a loop: test, learn, refine — continuously improving hook rate, CTR and conversion
Requirements:
Proven experience as a creative strategist or in a similar role for DTC/ecommerce brands
Strong understanding of direct-response advertising and Meta/Facebook ads
Sharp eye for hooks, angles and ad psychology
Experience with competitor research and ad-library analysis
Ability to write clear briefs and scripts
Comfortable reading basic ad metrics (hook rate, CTR, CPA, ROAS) and drawing conclusions
Excellent written English and fast communication
(Preferred) Experience in pet, health, or emotional/lifestyle niches
IMPORTANT — please include with your application:
A short breakdown of one winning ad you admire — tell us why it works (the hook, the angle, the psychology).
One example of a creative concept or brief you've made (or, if new, a concept you'd pitch for a dog joint supplement).
Any results you've helped drive (ROAS, CTR, scaling) if you have them.
Applications without this will not be reviewed.
Hours
Approximately 20 to 40 hours per week depending on performance
Opportunity for significantly more hours and long-term growth based on quality
To confirm you've read the entire job post, please start your application title with the word "Hond". Applications without "Woef" in the title will not be reviewed.
