JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE PROJECT

We are launching a stress-reduction study and educational community designed primarily for people ages 18–24.

The study will teach and explore practical, evidence-informed stress-management methods, including controlled breathing techniques, physical tension-release exercises, and mental relaxation techniques. Some of these approaches are also used in military resilience and performance-training environments.

We need a highly creative designer and video editor who can turn these ideas into engaging, modern content that young adults will want to watch, understand, and share.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will develop the visual and creative side of the launch while the founder focuses on teaching.

You will transform raw teaching videos, ideas, research-informed concepts, and community updates into polished short-form videos, social content, graphics, presentations, and outreach materials.

This is not a basic Canva-assistant position. We want someone with excellent visual judgment, strong storytelling instincts, and the ability to create original work—not someone who relies on generic templates or unedited AI output.

WHAT YOU WILL CREATE

• Short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and the community
• Edited clips from longer teaching videos and interviews
• Social-media graphics, carousels, announcements, and educational posts
• Launch graphics, countdowns, calls to action, and participant-recruitment materials
• Flyers and digital materials for fraternities, sororities, athletic groups, student organizations, and community partners
• Sponsor presentations, partnership graphics, and simple pitch-deck visuals
• Video thumbnails, titles, captions, and supporting graphics
• Community banners, welcome materials, course covers, and resource graphics
• Simple motion graphics, subtitles, transitions, and visual explanations
• Creative variations for testing different messages and formats

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help define a recognizable visual identity for the study and community
• Turn raw founder recordings into concise, engaging videos
• Identify strong ---------- nts, hooks, quotes, and teaching points within longer recordings
• Create platform-appropriate formats and dimensions
• Write or improve short captions, headlines, hooks, and calls to action
• Organize creative files, drafts, revisions, and approved assets
• Maintain a consistent voice and visual style
• Build reusable templates without making every post look identical
• Suggest creative campaign ideas instead of waiting for detailed instructions
• Track which creative approaches perform best
• Deliver reliable work according to an agreed content calendar

CREATIVE EXPECTATIONS

Your work should feel:

• Modern, energetic, approachable, and credible
• Relevant to people ages 18–24
• Calm and trustworthy without feeling clinical or boring
• Visually distinctive rather than template-driven
• Appropriate for an educational and research-informed initiative
• Clear enough to explain stress-management ideas without exaggerating them

AI AND CREATIVE TOOLS

You may use AI tools for brainstorming, transcription, captioning, editing assistance, visual exploration, and workflow efficiency.

However:

• Every deliverable must be reviewed and refined by you
• Generic, inaccurate, or obviously AI-generated work is not acceptable
• AI-generated images must not misleadingly depict real study participants
• Confidential participant information must never be entered into an unapproved AI system
• Scientific or health-related claims must use approved language
• Content must not imply military endorsement or promise medical results

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong portfolio of graphic-design and video-editing work
• Excellent visual judgment, pacing, composition, typography, and attention to detail
• Experience editing short-form social videos
• Ability to create strong hooks and maintain viewer attention
• Experience using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar software
• Ability to work from raw footage and limited direction
• Strong written English and reliable communication
• Ability to accept feedback and revise work efficiently
• Organized file-management and naming practices
• Reliable computer and internet connection

STRONGLY PREFERRED

• Experience creating content for people ages 18–24
• Familiarity with university, athletic, fitness, wellness, educational, or youth-focused audiences
• Experience marketing an online community, course, study, event, or membership
• Ability to create light motion graphics or animated explanations
• Experience designing sponsor decks and partnership materials
• Experience repurposing one long video into several short pieces of content
• Familiarity with AI-assisted creative tools and automated content workflows
• Comfortable recommending creative strategy, not just executing tasks

SCHEDULE

Approximately 15 hours per week.

Most work may be completed on a flexible schedule. You must be available for two brief meetings each week scheduled sometime between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time.

The initial focus will be the community launch, with the possibility of ongoing work for the right person.

HOW SUCCESS WILL BE MEASURED

• The project develops a clear and consistent visual identity
• Raw teaching footage is turned into compelling content efficiently
• Content is understandable, attractive, and appropriate for young adults
• Deliverables are completed on schedule
• Revisions decrease as you learn the project’s voice
• Creative work supports participant recruitment, community engagement, and sponsor outreach
• You consistently contribute useful creative ideas

HOW TO APPLY

Begin your application with the words “CREATIVE STRESS STUDY.”

Then answer the following:

1. Share a link to your three strongest graphic-design samples.
2. Share links to your three strongest short-form video samples.
3. Identify the sample that best represents your personal creative style and explain why.
4. Describe your role in producing each sample.
5. What tools do you use for graphic design, video editing, motion graphics, and AI-assisted work?
6. Describe how you would turn a 20-minute teaching video into a week of social content.
7. What experience do you have creating content for people ages 18–24?
8. What two meeting times can you consistently attend between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time?
9. How many short-form videos and graphics could you realistically produce in 15 hours per week?
10. Confirm that you are willing to complete a small paid creative test if shortlisted.

Portfolio quality matters more than formal education. Applications without relevant design and video samples will not be considered.
