JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT EPYC MEDIA
EPYC Media is a cultural storytelling agency known for building network ready content ecosystems for culturally influential founders, brands, athletes, entertainers, non profits, and enterprises. We believe story comes before format, emotional resonance creates audience loyalty, and premium production is a form of respect for the audience. The best content doesn't interrupt culture, it becomes part of it. Most of our team has been with EPYC 5+ years, because the work asks a lot of you (real detail, real craft, real effort) but it also moves the needle.

THE ROLE
EPYC's shows live and die by their first few seconds, and that's exactly where this role lives. You'll cut the episode trailers and linear reels that introduce a show's energy before anyone hits play on the full episode, working from raw footage and story direction to build short-form cuts that feel cinematic, sharp, and unmistakably on-brand. This is a craft role, not a volume-fill role: trailers and reels are often a viewer's first impression of a show, so every cut needs the same polish and intentionality EPYC is known for across every client.
You'll work closely with our Creative Director of Post Production on trailer direction and pacing, and with our Content & Copy Strategist on the copy and titling that pairs with your cuts.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Episode Trailers: cutting trailer content that captures a show's energy and earns a click, per client, per episode.
Linear Reels: short-form reel cuts for video podcast episodes, built for scroll-stopping pacing across platforms.
Motion Graphics Integration: incorporating motion graphics elements into trailers and reels where the story calls for it.
Pacing & Story Structure: finding the strongest emotional or narrative beat in raw footage and building a cut around it.
Brand Consistency: keeping each client's distinct visual and editorial style intact across every trailer and reel.
Cross-Team Collaboration: syncing with copy and design so the finished cut, its title, and its cover art all land together.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Strong short-form storytelling instincts: able to find the ---------- nt in raw footage that makes someone stop scrolling.
Motion graphics fluency: comfortable building and integrating motion graphics elements into a cut, not just placing static text.
Fast, clean pacing: editing that feels tight and intentional, never dragging, never over-cut.
Multi-brand fluency: comfortable working across several client identities at once, with zero style bleed between shows.
Reliable turnaround on trailer and reel deliverables without sacrificing quality.
A reel that shows range: trailers and short-form cuts across different tones, genres, and pacing styles.

SOFTWARE
Adobe Premiere Pro: required, primary editing tool.
Adobe After Effects: required, for motion graphics integration.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Within 90 days, you're independently cutting trailers and linear reels across multiple client shows with the same polish and brand precision as our senior editing team, giving our other creative editors room to focus on flagship creative direction rather than hands-on trailer editing for every show.

NOTE: PLEASE send your portfolio work with your application!
