2. Job Summary
The Cost & Manufacturing Accounting Manager is the primary owner of all cost accounting and manufacturing accounting functions across the organization. This role is responsible for establishing accurate standard costs, monitoring production-related variances, analyzing profitability, and maintaining reliable inventory valuation.
The position requires deep technical expertise in cost accounting and manufacturing processes, along with the ability to transform raw operational data into clear insights for upper management. CPA & CMA are strongly recommended.
3. Key Responsibilities
A. Cost Accounting (MAIN AREA #1)
- Build and maintain standard cost structures for materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
- Perform actual vs. standard cost variance analysis and present findings to senior leadership.
- Lead annual standard cost review, cost roll-up, and periodic updates.
- Conduct product-level and customer-level profitability analysis.
- Support new product costing and pricing decisions with precise cost models.
- Ensure cost accounting accuracy and compliance across all production-related activities.
B. Manufacturing Accounting (MAIN AREA #2)
- Oversee full manufacturing accounting cycle, including WIP, finished goods, and cost flows.
- Manage production order settlement, overhead allocation logic, and cost absorption.
- Review and analyze production KPIs: efficiency, scrap, rework, yield, downtime, variance root cause.
- Own inventory accounting processes, including cycle counts, physical inventory, and reconciliation.
- Partner closely with production, supply chain, and engineering to improve cost visibility.
C. Supporting Responsibilities (Secondary Focus)
-Systems, Processes & ERP Optimization
--Enhance and streamline cost & manufacturing accounting processes within SAP (FI/CO preferred).
--Introduce automation to reduce errors and improve reporting speed.
--Ensure consistent data flow between production systems and financial systems.
-Leadership & Collaboration
--Lead and develop the cost accounting and manufacturing accounting team.
--Provide clear reports, dashboards, and insights for upper management.
--Work cross-functionally with production, supply chain, and operational teams.
4. Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience specifically in cost accounting and manufacturing accounting.
- Deep expertise in:
--standard costing
--BOM/Routing cost structure
--manufacturing variances
--inventory valuation
--cost modeling
-Strong SAP ERP experience (FI/CO modules highly preferred).
- CPA & CMA strongly recommended.
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills for executive audiences.
- Fluent in English for cross-functional and global communication.
5. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing-intensive industries (electronics, pharmaceuticals, food, industrial, etc.).
- Background in multinational corporations or external audit environments.
- Experience in ERP projects, system enhancements, or automation initiatives.

7. Notes (Interview & Evaluation Guidelines)
- Candidates will complete a Case Study Presentation during the interview process.
- Case study must be prepared as if presenting to upper management, demonstrating:
--structured cost analysis
--variance interpretation
--manufacturing insights
--clear executive storytelling
-Zero tolerance for exaggeration or misrepresentation.
-If post-hire performance does not match interview claims, contract will be terminated immediately.
-Candidates with poor reporting discipline or excuse-driven behavior will not proceed.
