JOB OVERVIEW

About the role:
We run a large Golden Retriever social media presence with a following in the millions. We are looking for one person to own our written content and help run our social channels as we grow. This is a long-term, full-time role, not a short project.

This role covers both article/blog writing and social media, and you will do both every week. A typical week looks like this:
- Write 3 to 5 articles. Research, draft, fact-check, edit, source images, optimize for SEO, manage affiliate links, and submit for review.
- Keep the social calendar filled a month ahead across Facebook and Instagram, so posts are scheduled well before they go out

The number of articles matters less than the standard they are held to. We would rather have three excellent posts than five rushed ones, and everything is reviewed before it goes live.

The writing covers Golden Retriever health, training, nutrition, grooming, puppies, gear and product guides, including affiliate content that is genuinely useful first and commercial second: product roundups, comparisons and reviews.

The social work covers:
- Building and maintaining the content calendar
- Turning published articles into posts
- Working with photos and videos submitted by our audience. Sorting through submissions, cleaning up and cropping images, and cutting phone video into short vertical clips with captions and music for Reels and Stories
- Creating simple graphics in Canva from our templates
- Scheduling everything
- Suggesting ideas based on what the audience responds to

Required experience:
These are requirements, not preferences. Please do not apply without them.
- Social media management, including running a content calendar. Facebook and Instagram specifically. You should have managed accounts, not just posted to them
- Writing web articles, blog posts or SEO content in English. You will need to show samples
- Affiliate marketing inside blog content and social posts. Experience doing both is a significant advantage. Tell us what you have worked on and what results you saw
- Excellent written English. This is the single most important requirement. Your writing will be read by an American audience. If your English is good but not excellent, this is not the right role for you
- Experience with dogs. You should know dogs from real life, not only from research. Experience with Golden Retrievers specifically is a strong plus
- Photo and short-form video editing. You should be able to take a phone photo or clip someone sent in and turn it into a post worth publishing. CapCut, Canva, or whatever tool you prefer
- Comfortable with WordPress
- Able to follow detailed written instructions carefully and consistently

Rank Math or Yoast
Experience with a large Facebook page

A few honest notes:
You do not need to be an expert on the breed. You do need to research properly and never invent facts. You may use AI tools to help you write. We have no problem with that. But every draft must be fact-checked and edited by hand before you submit it. We can tell the difference between an edited draft and a copy-paste, and so can readers. This role does not include replying to comments or direct messages.

Working arrangement
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Flexible hours. We care about output and deadlines, not what time you are online
$650 USD per month, paid monthly, plus bonuses based on performance
Long-term. We want someone who stays and grows with this
