Bloom Bug Screens Ltd. is looking for a **part-time Independent Contractor** with experience in the **construction industry, estimating, customer service and sales**, together with **excellent maths and numerical skills**.

This is a hands-on contractor gig for someone who is comfortable working independently, speaking with customers and contractors, assisting with estimates, working accurately with measurements and calculations, following up opportunities, and handling both **inbound and outbound sales calls**.

Experience in construction, building products, windows, doors, blinds, screens, renovations, restoration or a related industry is strongly preferred.

# EXCELLENT MATHS SKILLS ARE REQUIRED

This is an important requirement for this gig.

You must be **confident and accurate with maths, measurements and calculations**.

The work involves customer measurements, product dimensions, quantities, pricing and estimating. Small mathematical errors can result in incorrect quotations or incorrectly sized custom products.

You should be comfortable with:

- Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Fractions and decimals.
- Working with **inches and feet**.
- Reading and calculating measurements.
- Working with measurements to **1/8 of an inch**.
- Converting feet to inches and inches to feet.
- Calculating **width × height**.
- Calculating **square footage**.
- Calculating quantities.
- Calculating unit prices.
- Calculating totals.
- Applying discounts and percentages.
- Calculating markups where required.
- Checking estimates for mathematical accuracy.

- Maintaining accurate customer and prospect notes.
- General PA and administrative support related to customers, estimates, sales and business development.

# CONSTRUCTION & ESTIMATING EXPERIENCE

Previous experience in the **construction industry or a construction-related business is strongly preferred**.

This is **not an admin-only gig**.

You must be comfortable with:

- Booking appointments.
- Following up professionally.

# CHOOSE YOUR SERVICE SLOT

Because the work involves customers, contractors, estimates and sales calls, services must be provided during **Bloom Bug Screens Ltd.'s Vancouver business hours**.

You must choose the service slot you are applying for:

# HOURS & CONTRACTOR RATE

**Contractor Rate:** USD $4.00 per hour

**Authorized Hours:** Up to 12 hours per week

**Contract:** Maximum 5 months, operating week-to-week

### IMPORTANT – HOURS ABOVE 12

**Any hours above 12 hours per week require prior approval from Bloom Bug Screens Ltd.**

Additional hours must not be assumed to be authorized.

Only authorized services actually completed may be invoiced.

# NO CATCH-UP FOR MISSED HOURS

If authorized services are missed during an agreed service period, there is **no automatic catch-up**.

Missed hours cannot automatically be:

- Moved to another day.
- Completed later.
- Added to another service period.
- Completed on the weekend.
- Carried into the following week.
- Banked.
- Added to a future invoice.

**Missed hours are not payable.**

Any exception requires specific approval from Bloom Bug Screens Ltd.

# CANADIAN & BC STATUTORY HOLIDAYS

Bloom Bug Screens Ltd. is **closed on Canadian and British Columbia statutory holidays observed by the Company**.

Regular services are not expected on those closure days unless specifically requested and authorized.

Statutory-holiday closures do **not** automatically create catch-up, replacement or banked hours.

Bloom Bug Screens Ltd. is also normally **closed annually from December 25 through January 1, inclusive**.

# STRICT NO-ADVANCE POLICY

Bloom Bug Screens Ltd. maintains a **strict no-advance policy**.

There are:

**NO advances against future contractor fees.**

**NO advances against future invoices.**

**NO payment for services that have not been completed.**

**NO early payment for future services.**

**NO personal loans or cash advances.**

# WEEK-TO-WEEK CONTRACTOR ARRANGEMENT

The engagement is for a **maximum of five months and operates week-to-week throughout**.

Five months of work, income or hours are **not guaranteed**.

Continuation depends on performance, reliability, estimating accuracy, mathematical accuracy, customer service, sales activity, follow-up, record keeping, professionalism, results and Company requirements.

Failure to provide the agreed services may result in the contractor arrangement being discontinued in accordance with the contractor agreement and applicable law.
