JOB OVERVIEW

Full-Time ·(EST) Reports to: Lead Recovery Specialist

About the Industry:
Our Company is a commercial recovery firm specializing in merchant cash advance (MCA) and UCC-based enforcement. We recover defaulted commercial receivables on behalf of funder clients, working alongside partner law firms on litigation and post-judgment enforcement. This is commercial collections not consumer.

The Role:
You'll own a queue of assigned defaulted commercial accounts from analysis through resolution — identifying enforcement targets, working merchants and third-party payers, and negotiating recoveries. This is an experienced seat on a small, high-output team. Complex multiparty settlements and client-facing case strategy are led by the Lead Recovery Specialist; you'll run the day-to-day recovery work and escalate the hard calls.

What You'll Do:
Target Identification & Analysis:
- Analyze bank statements, deposits, ACH/wire activity, and A/R schedules to identify third-party payers and UCC enforcement targets.
- Run skip tracing, asset investigations, and public-records research; use AI-assisted tools to locate targets and registered agents.
- Maintain accurate records on your assigned accounts in Simplicity Collect. (New-case intake and case assignment are handled by the Intake Paralegal.)

Negotiation & Recovery:
- Work an assigned account queue with high-volume outbound contact by phone, email, and mail.
- Negotiate settlements, payment plans, and restructures with merchants, guarantors, and payers.
- Draft settlement-plan and follow-up documents and manage active plans through payoff.

Enforcement & Legal Support:
- Compile payer information for UCC lien and restraining notices and follow up to confirm holds.
- Prepare accounts for legal action and support attorney-supervised litigation and post-judgment prep — pleadings and discovery are prepared under attorney direction, not independently.

Client & Team Communication:
- Provide case updates and reporting inputs and keep audit-ready documentation.
- Consistently meet recovery goals and KPIs.

Requirements:
- 3+ years in commercial collections, MCA, financial analysis, A/R, banking, or litigation support. This is not an entry-level seat.
- Ability to read and reconcile financial records (bank statements, ledgers, A/R).
- Strong negotiation skills and confident phone presence.
- Working understanding of default, contract enforcement, and pre-legal/legal recovery workflows.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage a high-volume queue independently.
- Proficient with Excel, Word, PDF, and SharePoint; comfortable with case-management/CRM systems, skip tracing, e-filing, and Secretary of State lookups.

Preferred:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Legal Management.
- Familiarity with UCC Article 9 liens, restraining notices, and judgment enforcement.
- Experience with Simplicity Collect.
- MCA or legal-collections background strongly preferred.

What We Offer:
- Competitive base plus performance incentives tied to recoveries.
- Firm-paid training and industry certifications.
- A direct role in a growing commercial enforcement practice with modern, automation-forward tooling.
