JOB OVERVIEW

About the Project
We want to produce a series of easy, simple coloring books for adults. We use AI tools to generate initial concept compositions, and a human illustrator refines, redraws, and perfects each page into clean, print-ready line art. You are the the person who transforms rough AI concepts into polished, consistent, coloring-optimized illustrations that feel hand-drawn and warm.
This is an ongoing relationship. The right illustrator becomes our long-term creative partner.
Scope of Work
• Receive 50 AI-generated concept images as compositional references (labeled "REFERENCE ONLY — NOT FINAL ART")
• Redraw, refine, or trace each page into clean, consistent line art following our Brand Style Guide
• Ensure all pages meet our technical specifications (line weight, zone count, print requirements)
• Create 3–5 original illustrations per book for key pages (cover centerpiece, opening page, signature scenes) where AI concepts are inadequate
• Deliver 50 final pages + 1 cover illustration as individual high-resolution files
• Complete revisions per page based on our feedback
Required Qualifications
• Portfolio demonstrating clean line art illustration (coloring book samples strongly preferred)
• Experience with print specifications (300 DPI, bleed settings, black & white interiors)
• Proficiency with digital illustration tools (Adobe Illustrator, Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, or equivalent)
• Ability to maintain consistent style across 50+ pages within a single book and across a multi-book series
• Comfortable working from AI-generated reference images (we will discuss this upfront, if you are philosophically opposed to working with AI references, this is not the right fit)
• Responsive communication — replies within 24 hours on business days

Preferred Qualifications
• Previously published coloring books
• Experience with the "Bold & Easy" coloring book style specifically
• Understanding of coloring ergonomics (zone sizing, line closure, marker-friendly design)
• Ability to deliver vector files (SVG/AI) in addition to PNG for future scalability
