About Us
Station 5 Insurance is an established independent insurance agency serving customers in Alabama and Texas. We have been in business for over 22 years and take pride in providing personalized, relationship-focused service.
We are looking for a friendly, confident, highly organized professional to join our team.
This is a hybrid **customer service and outbound calling position**. We need someone who genuinely enjoys speaking with people, can handle customer concerns with warmth and patience, and is comfortable making proactive calls to prospective and existing customers.
We are not looking for someone who simply answers calls and takes messages. We want someone who takes ownership, follows through, and helps us build stronger customer relationships.
Your Responsibilities
**Inbound Customer Service (Approximately 60%)**
- Answer incoming customer calls professionally and warmly.
- Listen carefully to customer concerns and determine how best to assist.
- Help customers with routine insurance service inquiries and coordinate requests with our service team.
- Handle billing questions, policy document requests, claims intake, and other general inquiries within established procedures.
- Follow up with customers to ensure their requests are being addressed.
- Maintain accurate notes and track outstanding callbacks.
- Help direct customers to our agency's text-based service system when appropriate.
- Escalate questions requiring a licensed insurance agent.
**Outbound Calling & Business Development (Approximately 40%)**
- Contact former customers to explore opportunities to earn their business back.
- Call prospective customers from lead lists.
- Follow up with customers approaching their insurance renewal dates.
- Conduct follow-up calls on outstanding quotes and sales opportunities.
- Identify potential cross-selling opportunities with existing customers.
- Gather basic prospect information and schedule qualified opportunities for our licensed agents.
- Maintain organized records of calls, conversations, and follow-up dates.
You will not be expected to provide licensed insurance advice, recommend coverage, or bind insurance policies.
Who We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate is:
- **Warm and personable:** You sound friendly, approachable, and genuinely interested in helping people.
- **Excellent on the telephone:** You speak clear, fluent, conversational English and can comfortably communicate with American customers.
- **Confident but not pushy:** You enjoy outbound calling and know how to start conversations without sounding like a scripted telemarketer.
- **Empathetic and patient:** You can calmly assist customers who may be frustrated or concerned about their insurance.
- **Proactive:** You recognize what needs to be done and take initiative rather than waiting for constant instructions.
- **Highly organized:** You follow through on commitments and maintain accurate records.
- **Dependable:** You show up consistently, communicate well, and take responsibility for your work.
- **Comfortable with technology:** You can learn insurance software, customer management systems, phone applications, and Google Workspace.

Experience in any of the following is especially valuable:
- U.S. insurance agencies
- Insurance customer service or appointment setting

Insurance experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person.
Equipment Requirements
- Reliable high-speed internet
- Quiet, professional workspace
- Quality noise-canceling headset
- Computer capable of running cloud-based business applications
- Reliable backup plan for internet or power interruptions
What We Offer
- Long-term opportunity with an established U.S. business

- Training and clear procedures
- Supportive team environment
- Opportunity to expand responsibilities as the business grows

How to Apply
**Please follow these instructions carefully. Applications missing the requested information may not be considered.**
**1.** Begin your application with the words **"Station 5 Customer Experience"**.
**2.** Tell us about your experience handling inbound customer calls and making outbound sales or follow-up calls.
**3.** Describe how you would handle this situation:
*A customer calls upset because their homeowners insurance premium has increased significantly. They are frustrated and want to speak to someone immediately, but the licensed agent is unavailable. What would you say and do?*
**4.** Provide a 60–90 second voice recording introducing yourself and explaining why you would be a great fit for this position. Please speak naturally, as if you were talking to a customer—not reading a prepared script.
**5.** Include your expected hourly rate in USD and your availability during U.S. Central Time business hours.
We are looking for someone who can become a valued, long-term member of our team. If you enjoy helping people, are comfortable making phone calls, and take pride in delivering excellent customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
