We are a growing U.S.-based bookkeeping and tax firm that works exclusively with construction and home service businesses (roofers, contractors, etc.).
We are hiring a Client Accounting & Tax Manager to take full ownership of client communication, tax preparation, and monthly workflow execution.
This is a long-term, full-time role for someone who wants stability, responsibility, and growth — not freelance or project-based work.
What You’ll Own
Client Ownership (Primary Responsibility)
Serve as the main virtual point of contact for your assigned clients
Manage all client communication clearly and professionally
Answer questions related to bookkeeping, financials, and basic tax matters
Ensure no client issue is left unresolved
Monthly Workflow Management
Own the monthly close process for your clients
Follow up on missing documents and keep work moving
Coordinate with bookkeepers to prevent delays
Identify and solve issues proactively
Tax Preparation
Prepare U.S. tax returns (S-Corps and individuals) using ProConnect Tax Online
Answer client tax questions with confidence and clarity
Identify basic tax opportunities (deductions, reasonable comp, etc.)
Escalate complex issues when needed
Bookkeeping Review & Support
Review work in QuickBooks Online for accuracy
Ensure books are complete before reports are delivered
Support bookkeepers with questions and issue resolution
Step in when needed (categorization, reconciliation, cleanup)
Requirements (Must-Have)
3+ years of hands-on U.S. tax preparation experience
Strong experience with:
QuickBooks Online
U.S. tax returns (S-Corp + individual)
Experience working directly with U.S. clients
Excellent written English (clear, confident, professional)
Highly organized and able to manage multiple clients independently
Nice to Have
Experience with ProConnect Tax Online
Experience with TaxDome
Experience working with construction or home service businesses
Experience in a U.S. accounting or CPA firm
QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification
CPA (U.S. or international)
Work Style & Schedule
Full-time position
Monday–Friday, consistent schedule
Must have at least 3–4 hours overlap with U.S. Central Time
All client communication is handled in writing (no phone or Zoom calls required)
