We are a growing U.S.-based bookkeeping and tax firm serving primarily construction and home service businesses.
We are hiring a Client Accounting & Tax Manager to take full ownership of client communication, tax preparation, and monthly workflow execution.
This is a hands-on, long-term role — not freelance or project-based.
What You Will Own
1. Client Communication (Primary Responsibility)
Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients
Respond to all client messages in a timely, clear, and professional manner
Answer questions related to bookkeeping, financials, and basic tax matters
Ensure no client message is left unresolved
2. Monthly Workflow Ownership
Ensure all clients move through the monthly close process on time
Track missing documents and follow up with clients
Coordinate with the bookkeeping team to keep work progressing
Identify and resolve bottlenecks proactively
3. Tax Preparation
Prepare U.S. tax returns (primarily S-Corps and individuals) using ProConnect Tax Online
Answer common tax questions from clients
Identify basic tax opportunities (deductions, reasonable comp, etc.)
Escalate complex issues when needed
4. Bookkeeping Oversight & Support
Review bookkeeping work in QuickBooks Online
Ensure accuracy and completeness before reports are delivered
Support bookkeepers by answering questions and resolving issues
Perform bookkeeping tasks when needed (categorization, reconciliation, cleanup)
Requirements (Must-Have)
3+ years of hands-on U.S. tax preparation experience
Strong experience with:
ProConnect Tax Online
QuickBooks Online
S-Corporations and individual returns
Active PTIN (current or most recent)
Experience working directly with U.S. clients
Excellent written and spoken English
Highly organized and able to manage multiple clients independently
Experience reviewing or supporting bookkeeping work
Nice to Have
Experience with TaxDome
Experience working with construction or home service businesses
Experience in a U.S. CPA or bookkeeping firm
Work Style & Expectations
This is a long-term role with consistent weekly hours
Must work Monday–Friday on a fixed schedule
Must overlap with U.S. business hours (Central Time)
Example schedule: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Central Time
You must be actively monitoring and responding to client communication during your scheduled hours
We are looking for someone who wants to grow with our company — not a freelancer managing multiple clients
You will be a core part of our team and expected to take full ownership of your responsibilities

All client communication is handled promptly and professionally
Clients do not require escalation
Monthly work is completed on time without delays
Bookkeeping and tax work is accurate and organized
You take ownership and solve problems without waiting for direction
