We are looking for a technical person in Cebu City or nearby who can help us set up Claude Code and AI automation systems for our business.
This is not a normal VA role. We need someone who is comfortable following technical setup instructions, using terminals, connecting tools, testing automations, and troubleshooting when something does not work the first time.
You do not need to be a senior developer, but you must be technical, patient, detail-oriented, and willing to figure things out.
The main goal of this role is simple:
Help us set up working Claude Code automations and document the setup clearly so the process can be repeated later.
You will be helping with things like:
Setting up Claude Code on a computer
Running commands in terminal
Connecting APIs, webhooks, Google Sheets, CRMs,
Following detailed SOPs step by step
Testing automations to make sure they work properly
Troubleshooting setup errors by Googling, reading docs, and trying fixes
Recording what was done so another person can repeat it
Turning messy technical steps into clear setup notes
Tools you may work with:
Claude Code, ChatGPT, Google Sheets, GoHighLevel, Make/Zapier-style automation tools, APIs, webhooks, browser tools, code editors, terminals,
You do not need to already know every tool. What matters most is that you can learn quickly, follow instructions carefully, and solve setup problems without needing constant hand-holding.
This role is a good fit for someone who:
Is naturally technical
Has used terminals, code editors, APIs, GitHub, webhooks, or automation tools before
Can follow a detailed setup guide without skipping steps
Can troubleshoot errors independently before asking for help
Can explain what they did in simple language
Is comfortable with technical dashboards, settings pages, and documentation
Is available to meet in Cebu City if needed for initial setup/onboarding
This role is not a good fit if:
You only want basic VA/data entry work
You are not comfortable using technical tools
You give up quickly when an error appears
You skip steps or do not document your work
You need every small instruction repeated multiple times
Work setup:
Cebu City preferred. Remote is okay for the right person, but being able to meet in person for initial onboarding is a big advantage.
This will start with a paid test project. If the test goes well, this can become an ongoing role.
Compensation:
Starting at 30,000–40,000 PHP/month depending on skill level and results. Higher pay is possible if you can independently set up and troubleshoot automation systems.
40 hours/week preferred, but we can start with a paid test project first.
To apply, answer these carefully. Generic or AI-looking answers will be skipped.
1. Tell me about one technical setup you personally completed. Do not describe your general skills. Pick one real setup and explain:
- What tool/software you set up
- What the goal was
- What broke during setup
- What you tried first
- What finally fixed it
- How you proved it was working
2. Imagine I give you access to a laptop and ask you to set up Claude Code from scratch. What would you check before you begin? Give me your actual checklist.
3. You are following an SOP and step 14 does not work because the terminal shows an error. What exactly do you do in the next 20 minutes before asking me for help?
4. Explain these in simple words:
- API
- Webhook
- Terminal command
- Environment variable
- GitHub repository
- Automation workflow
5. Give an example of a time you connected two tools together. What were the two tools, what data moved between them, and how did you confirm it worked?
6. When documenting a technical setup for someone else, what screenshots or notes would you include so they can repeat it without you?
7. You are setting up an automation and it works once, but fails the second time. What are the first things you would check?
8. What is one technical thing you do not know yet, but you are confident you could figure out? Explain how you would learn it.
9. Small thinking test:
Imagine I give you a Google Sheet with customer names,
Explain:
- What tools you would use
- What access you would need
- What steps you would take first
- How you would test it safely
- What could go wrong
- How you would document it after it works
10. Record a 2–3 minute Loom video explaining any technical setup, automation, tool, or workflow you have used before. It does not need to be advanced. I want to see how clearly you explain steps.
At the top of your application, write:
“I can troubleshoot before escalating.”
