This role is ideal for a finance leader with a proven track record in startup environments—someone who has successfully guided companies through capital raises, investor relations, financial scaling, and the due diligence processes associated with mergers, acquisitions, or exits in the United States.
The CFO will serve as a trusted partner to the CEO, providing financial leadership, operational insight, and disciplined execution while supporting rapid growth and long-term value creation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Executive Leadership
Act as a core member of the executive leadership team, advising the CEO on financial strategy, growth planning, and risk management
Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company objectives and long-term exit or liquidity planning
Translate business strategy into financial models, forecasts, and actionable insights
Fundraising & Investor Relations
Lead all fundraising activities, including venture capital, private equity, strategic investors, and debt financing
Prepare investor materials including pitch decks, financial models, and data rooms
Manage ongoing investor relations, reporting, and board communications
Support valuation strategy and capital structure optimization
Financial Operations & Controls
Oversee all financial functions including accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, payroll, and compliance
Establish scalable financial systems, processes, and internal controls suitable for a high-growth startup
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, regulatory requirements, and best practices
Manage cash flow, runway planning, and capital allocation
M&A, Due Diligence & Exit Readiness
Lead financial due diligence for acquisitions, strategic partnerships, or company sale processes
Prepare and manage data rooms, financial disclosures, and responses to investor or buyer inquiries
Coordinate with legal, tax, and external advisors throughout transaction processes
Ensure the company is “exit-ready” from a financial, operational, and governance perspective
Team & Culture
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team
Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and financial discipline
Partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, product, and legal teams
Qualifications
Required
Proven experience as CFO, VP of Finance, or equivalent senior finance role in startup or high-growth environments
Demonstrated success raising capital from investors in the United States
Hands-on experience leading financial due diligence for M&A, sale, or exit transactions
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, corporate finance, and financial modeling
Experience working closely with Boards, investors, and executive leadership
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
Preferred
CPA, CFA, or MBA strongly preferred
Experience scaling companies from early-stage through growth or exit
Background in technology, SaaS, or innovation-driven businesses (industry flexible)
Prior experience working with PE, VC, or strategic buyers
