JOB OVERVIEW

We're a custom homebuilding company in Indiana building 50+ homes a year. We already have a primary drafting contractor handling most of our Chief Architect work - we're looking for a second, reliable drafter to serve as backup and overflow support.

What you'll do:

Take marked-up redlines (from us) and update Chief Architect drawings accordingly
Pure execution work — we make the design decisions; you draft exactly what's marked

Why the time difference works well: We typically mark up drawings during our business day. With the ~12-hour time difference, you'd pick up the work as your day starts and we'd have updated drawings ready to review the next morning. This overnight turnaround is a big part of why we're hiring in the Philippines specifically.

What this role is:

Part-time / as-needed to start, with a minimum weekly volume so you stay current with our standards
A genuine backup role — when our primary drafter is unavailable or volume spikes, we need someone who can step in without a learning curve
Potential to grow into more consistent hours as we scale (currently growing from ~40 to 55-60 homes/year)

Requirements:

Proven hands-on experience in Chief Architect specifically (not AutoCAD, Revit, or SoftPlan — must be Chief Architect)
Residential / custom home drafting experience strongly preferred
Comfortable working independently from redlines and flagging anything unclear rather than guessing
Reliable internet and availability during Philippine daytime hours

Pay: Hourly, $7-10 per hour depending on experience. Paid via Wise.

Next step: Shortlisted candidates will complete a short paid test project (a real redline set) before any ongoing commitment.
