Online Homeschool Teacher (Reading & Writing – High School Level Focus)

???? Job Description:

We are looking for a reliable and structured homeschool teacher to work one-on-one with a student on reading comprehension, writing, and grammar skills aligned to U.S. academic standards.

This role is presented as high school-level reading and writing instruction, and we are seeking someone who can:
• Teach with structure and clarity
• Guide reading, annotation, and writing
• Build strong comprehension and analytical thinking skills

This is a homeschool setting, so you must be comfortable leading instruction independently and keeping the student engaged.

? Schedule (Choose One Block):
• 8:00–10:00 AM CST
• 10:00 AM–12:00 PM CST
• 1:00–3:00 PM CST

(Monday–Friday)

• $6/hour
• Paid weekly or biweekly

???? Responsibilities:
• Guide student through:
• Reading passages
• Annotation (underlining, notes, key ideas)
• Answering comprehension questions (multiple choice + short answer)
• Support writing assignments:
• Paragraph writing
• Essays
• Evidence-based responses
• Reinforce grammar and mechanics
• Keep the student focused and actively participating

You will teach using:
• Lumos Learning (ELA)
• Performance Coach (Reading/Writing)
• IXL (grammar and skills practice)

???? Your role is to teach and guide, not create lessons.

???? Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone who:
• Has strong English communication skills
• Has experience teaching, tutoring, or homeschooling
• Can explain concepts clearly and patiently
• Is reliable, consistent, and on time every day
• Can lead a session without supervision

? Preferred (Not Required):
• Background in Education or English
• Experience with U.S. curriculum
• Familiarity with:
• Reading comprehension strategies
• Writing instruction
• Grammar instruction

• You must:
• Lead the lesson independently
• Keep the student engaged (no passive sessions)
• Correct mistakes and provide feedback
