*Summary of Position
The Company’s Controller shall be capable of understanding the business drivers and delivering information to various stakeholders that is accurate, timely, relevant, and transparent. The controller must demonstrate the initiative and business acumen to work effectively with local management and individuals throughout the global organization. The Controller will have financial management experience, a strong accounting background, as well as superior analytical skills, and presenting capabilities.
*The Position Responsibility
The Controller is responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements, internal management reporting, cash management, tax compliance, accounts payable, credit/collections, inventory cost, service cost, and margin analysis for the Corporate location. In addition, the Controller provides support on acquisition projects and integration, as required. The individual should be a detail-oriented accounting professional who will coordinate external audits, implement and maintain internal controls, and report financial results in U.S. GAAP. The Controller will help bring alignment across the organization through clear understanding of the business drivers and their impact on the Company’s strategies and operating results. The Controller will instill a proactive customer-centric approach for partnering effectively and creatively with other departments. The specific responsibilities include:
*Key Responsibilities
Drive timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process, manage the year-end audit process and provide a report of financial results in accordance with U.S. GAAP
Generate the financial information, analyses and recommendations that provide the management team with the dashboard reporting they need to effectively manage their operations and resources, and to meet the company’s goals and objectives
Develop policies and procedures that provide for proper internal controls and ensure data integrity; initiate periodic audits to ensure proper compliance with policies and procedures
Analyze key business metrics like utilization, gross margins, inventory levels, receivables and capital expenditures and make recommendations for improvement opportunities; develop and create new metrics to better manage the business
Work collaboratively with the management team on various commercial and business initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement and develop new and progressive ways to improve the transparency of financial data
Provide reporting and oversight to the capital expenditure authorization process
Maximize the effectiveness of the company’s ERP platform and drive through process improvements where possible.
Liaise with the Information Technology function and provide guidance when necessary
Develop and retain highly competent accounting and finance professionals
Directly impact working capital improvements through the management of the accounts payable, credit and collections and cash management functions
Process supplier payments on a weekly basis, identifying efficiencies and improvements
Manage and support tax compliance through the help of outside advisors
Assist in preparing the annual budget, financial forecasts and other periodic financial analysis
Perform other duties, including special projects, as required
*Qualifications
The successful candidate will have 5+ years of financial management experience that demonstrates strong progression and hands-on leadership of finance teams. More specifically, the individual will need the following:
5+ years of financial management experience
Prior experience in a controller role is highly recommended
Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred (Experience can be considered if there is no degree)
Be proficient in matters of corporate governance and U.S. GAAP
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with multiple and changing priorities
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication (verbal and written) skills
Ability to maintain successful working relationships with senior management, finance staff, commercial and operational personnel, corporate finance, customers, and suppliers
Be proficient in the use of technology and automation to achieve business goals; experience with QuickBooks Online and ConnectWise would be a plus
Highly developed problem-solving abilities and organizational skills
