About the Company
iDrone Train, a division of iDrone Corp, is one of Australia’s leading drone training organisations delivering the Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) under the regulations of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).
We train commercial drone pilots across Australia in industries such as construction, surveying, agriculture, and industrial cleaning. As part of our expansion, we are looking for a Drone Aviation Theory Instructor to assist in delivering the theoretical component of the Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) course online.
This is a fully remote position with the opportunity to work with a rapidly growing international drone technology company.
Role Overview
We are seeking a technically minded instructor to deliver the theoretical aviation training component of our drone pilot certification program via online classes and webinars.
The instructor will guide students through aviation theory including airspace, regulations, drone systems, meteorology, and operational safety.
All practical flight training and final licensing approvals will be handled by our Australian instructors.
Responsibilities
Deliver live online training sessions covering:
Australian drone regulations (CASA Part 101)
Airspace and aviation rules
Weather and meteorology for drone operations
Human factors and aviation safety
Drone systems and flight planning
Operational risk management
Additional responsibilities:
Answer student questions during training sessions
Conduct theory knowledge checks and quizzes
Assist with student onboarding and course support
Maintain high-quality training standards
Work closely with our Australian aviation team
Requirements
Essential:
Strong English speaking ability (clear neutral accent)
Strong presentation and teaching skills
Comfortable speaking to groups via Zoom or Google Meet
Strong technical understanding or interest in drones, aviation, or engineering
Reliable high-speed internet connection
Professional home office setup
Preferred:
Background in aviation, drones, engineering, or aviation training
Experience teaching technical subjects
Familiarity with drone flight operations
Experience with online training platforms or LMS systems
Bonus (not required):
Drone pilot experience
Aviation training background
Flight simulation or UAV experience
