JOB OVERVIEW

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CAD Drafter capable of preparing accurate and professional architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings for residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate should be proficient in AutoCAD, able to interpret architectural and engineering plans and markups, and capable of producing coordinated, construction-ready and permit-ready drawing sets.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings using AutoCAD.
Prepare construction and permit drawings based on specifications, plans, and engineering markups.
Revise and update drawings based on project requirements, field conditions, and feedback from engineers, architects, and project managers.
Review technical documents, specifications, plans, and design instructions to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Coordinate drawings between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
Prepare site plans and assist with grading, drainage, and utility drawings when required.
Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project files.
Ensure drawings comply with company standards, applicable building codes, and permit requirements.
Perform site measurements and field verification when required.
Manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

3+ years of CAD drafting experience in architecture, engineering, construction, or a related field.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
Experience preparing architectural, structural, and MEP plans.
Strong understanding of construction drawings, dimensions, building systems, and drafting standards.
Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and markups.
Ability to prepare coordinated construction and permit drawings.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Revit and Civil 3D.
Experience with site plans, grading, drainage, and utility drafting is a major plus.
Familiarity with building codes and permitting requirements.
Experience with residential and commercial construction projects.
Associate degree, drafting certification, engineering technology, architecture, or related education preferred.
