About the Role
The Business Intelligence Engineer will design and maintain trusted enterprise reporting solutions that support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role focuses on building scalable Power BI semantic models, standardizing KPI definitions, and delivering clear, reliable dashboards that translate business needs into actionable insights.
Responsibilities:
Design and maintain Power BI semantic models and dashboards used across the organization.
Develop and optimize DAX measures and reporting logic for performance and scalability.
Write and troubleshoot SQL queries to validate and support reporting datasets.
Standardize KPI definitions and metric governance to ensure consistent reporting across teams.
Audit existing dashboards and reports to remove redundancy and improve clarity.
Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business questions into reporting solutions.
Improve usability and performance through dashboard design and UX optimization.
Competencies and Qualifications:
Must-Have:
5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence or analytics engineering roles.
Strong experience with Power BI semantic model development.
Expertise in DAX development and performance tuning.
Strong SQL querying and data validation skills.
Experience with KPI standardization and metric governance.
Experience designing clear and user-friendly reporting dashboards.
Ability to gather stakeholder requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.
Experience implementing enterprise reporting frameworks.
Nice-to-Have:
Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or modern data platforms.
Experience with data documentation and reporting governance practices.
Microsoft Power BI certification or analytics certifications.
Degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, or related field.
