About Us
We are a building envelope consulting and engineering practice based in the New York City Metropolitan area, specializing in facade inspection, restoration, and repair projects. Our work includes facade assessments, FISP (Local Law 11) compliance, restoration design, waterproofing, masonry repair, and building envelope rehabilitation for a wide range of existing buildings.

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Building Envelope CAD Drafter to support facade inspection and restoration projects. The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD skills, experience producing coordinated construction document sets, and a solid understanding of building envelope systems and facade repair work.

This role requires someone who can independently develop existing-condition drawings, prepare repair documents, and contribute to the technical accuracy and quality of project deliverables.

Responsibilities

- Prepare construction drawings and repair documents in AutoCAD for facade restoration and building envelope projects.
- Develop accurate exterior building elevations using publicly available resources, photographs, online mapping tools, and reference materials.
- Create and maintain coordinated drawing sets using external references (Xrefs).
- Apply company CAD standards, templates, line weights, layers, and plotting conventions.
- Draft repair details, notes, schedules, and documentation for facade restoration projects.
- Interpret field observations, condition surveys, and engineering markups.
- Identify appropriate repair approaches for common facade and building envelope deficiencies.
- Coordinate drawings across multiple disciplines and project phases.
- Revise and update drawing sets based on review comments and project requirements.
- Maintain organized project files and CAD standards throughout project execution.

Qualifications

Required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience preparing architectural, facade restoration, or building envelope construction documents.
- Strong understanding of Xrefs, layer management, plotting, templates, and drawing organization.
- Ability to produce existing-condition elevations from available reference information.
- Familiarity with masonry restoration, facade repairs, waterproofing, and exterior wall systems.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality drawings.

Preferred
- Experience with New York City facade restoration projects.
- Familiarity with FISP (Facade Inspection Safety Program / Local Law 11).
- Knowledge of building science and building envelope performance.
- Experience in facade consulting, restoration design, or building envelope engineering.
- Understanding of common NYC building types and construction methods.

What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate understands not only how to draft, but also why repairs are being designed. You should be comfortable reviewing existing conditions, understanding repair intent, and translating engineering concepts into clear and coordinated construction documents.
