JOB OVERVIEW

Building & Construction Estimator – Independent Contractor (Remote)

We are an Australian building and property maintenance company seeking an experienced Building and Construction Estimator to provide remote estimating and job coordination support. This is an independent contractor role only and is not employment.

The role involves preparing estimates and take-offs from plans, photos, and scopes of work; managing and updating jobs in ServiceM8 (SM8) and Simpro; tracking costs, variations, and progress; assisting with contract administration; and liaising with clients, subcontractors, and our in-house bookkeeper. Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software is advantageous.

Applicants must have proven construction estimating experience, strong knowledge of building maintenance and small construction works, and hands-on experience using both Simpro and ServiceM8 (SM8). Formal qualifications in building construction are preferred. Strong written English, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently are essential. Reliable internet access is required.

Engagement is remote and task-based, paid at an agreed hourly or per-task rate (AUD). Contractors are responsible for their own tax, superannuation, insurance, equipment, and working arrangements. Availability during Australian business hours is preferred but flexible. Ongoing work may be offered following a short paid trial task.
