Position Summary
The Brand & Marketing Manager/Head leads The Brand Powerhouse as the centralized brand, creative, marketing, social media, and communications organization serving both the company portfolio and executive leadership.
The role has two equal strategic mandates:
1. Build, launch, position, govern, market, and grow company and product brands.
2. Build the Founder/CEO's public positioning, reputation, authority, visibility, media presence, and thought leadership.
Core Responsibilities
1. COMPANY & PORTFOLIO BRAND DEVELOPMENT
Brand Strategy & Development
-Develop complete brand strategies for new companies and existing portfolio businesses.
-Establish positioning, target audiences, messaging, voice, naming direction, slogans, and brand architecture.
-Lead visual identity and brand-standard development and maintain consistency across customer-facing channels.
New Company Launches
-Own the branding and marketing workstream for every new-company launch.
-Coordinate identity, website direction, social accounts, launch campaigns, sales collateral, photography, video, and public launch readiness.
-Maintain a standardized Brand Launch Checklist and launch calendar.
Marketing & Growth
-Develop marketing plans tied to measurable business and revenue objectives.
-Oversee digital advertising, SEO,
-Coordinate with sales and operating-company leadership to align marketing activity with commercial priorities.
Portfolio Governance
-Maintain centralized brand guidelines, approved logos, messaging, photography, video, collateral, social accounts, campaign history, and content calendars.
-Create repeatable standards so every company launches and operates at a consistent professional level.
2. FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE PERSONAL BRAND
Executive branding is a primary responsibility of the position - not a secondary social-media assignment. The Director will develop and operate a deliberate executive-brand program designed to strengthen the Founder/CEO's credibility, visibility, influence, and long-term reputation.
Executive Brand Strategy
-Define executive positioning, public image, messaging, voice, core themes, audience, and long-term reputation strategy.
-Develop clear boundaries between the executive identity and individual company brands while using each to strategically strengthen the other.
-Create an annual Executive Brand Plan with quarterly priorities and measurable objectives.
Executive Digital Presence
-Own strategy and ongoing development of the executive personal website.
-Manage executive presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and other appropriate channels.
-Ensure biographies, profiles, photography, credentials, company affiliations, and public information remain current and consistent.
Thought Leadership & Content
-Develop executive thought-leadership themes covering business, leadership, entrepreneurship, industry expertise, -technology, company building, and other approved topics.
-Coordinate articles, executive commentary, founder stories, short-form video, long-form video, interviews, and behind-the-scenes business content.
-Maintain a separate executive content calendar and publishing cadence.
Media, PR & Visibility
-Develop and coordinate press opportunities, interviews, podcasts, speaking engagements, panels, awards, and other executive visibility opportunities.
-Build relationships with relevant media, event organizers, industry organizations, and external communications resources.
-Prepare executive talking points, biographies, media materials, announcements, and public-facing communications.
Executive Reputation Management
-Monitor executive brand consistency and public presentation across digital channels.
-Identify reputation risks, outdated information, inconsistent profiles, or brand issues requiring correction.
-Maintain a polished executive presence consistent with the scale and direction of the broader enterprise.
Founder-to-Company Brand Connection
-Use executive visibility strategically to support company credibility, launches, recruiting, partnerships, customer confidence, and market awareness.
-Ensure operating companies can develop independent brand equity and are not unnecessarily dependent on the Founder/CEO's identity.
-Coordinate major company milestones, launches, acquisitions, partnerships, and announcements through both corporate and executive channels when appropriate.
3. CREATIVE, SOCIAL & DIGITAL LEADERSHIP
Creative Direction
-Direct designers, photographers, videographers, editors, copywriters, and other creative resources.
-Set the creative standard for websites, advertising, social graphics, presentations, proposals, campaigns, photography, and video.
-Approve brand-facing materials and maintain quality control.
Social Media & Content Operations
-Develop differentiated strategies for each corporate brand and for executive leadership.
-Build monthly content calendars and ensure content is created, approved, scheduled, published, and measured.
-Coordinate production resources so content execution does not depend on executive leadership managing individual contributors.
Websites & Digital Presence
-Own messaging, brand direction, content hierarchy, calls to action, SEO direction, and conversion strategy for company and executive websites.
-Coordinate with technology and development teams for technical execution.
-Use analytics to continuously improve digital performance and presentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
-7-10+ years of experience in branding, marketing, creative direction, digital marketing, communications, or a closely related discipline.
-Demonstrated experience building or launching multiple brands, products, companies, or executive brands.
-Strong creative judgment combined with measurable marketing and growth experience.
-Experience developing executive/founder content, thought leadership, social presence, media strategy, or public-facing leadership communications.
-Experience managing designers, content creators, developers, agencies, and outside vendors.
-Strong understanding of social media, websites, SEO, digital advertising, analytics, marketing automation, PR, and content production.
-Ability to manage multiple brands and simultaneous launches without losing quality or deadlines.
-Experience working directly with founders, owners, or senior executive leadership strongly preferred.
