JOB OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking an experienced and detail oriented part time bookkeeper to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who understands the full cycle of bookkeeping, is highly proficient in QuickBooks Online, and has a strong grasp of the US tax system.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online
• Categorize transactions and perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Generate and analyze financial reports including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
• Prepare and maintain clean books for tax preparation
• Identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy across all accounts
• Assist with cleanup and catch up bookkeeping when needed
• Support tax preparation process by organizing financials and working alongside tax preparer
• Assist with input and review of tax returns using Lacerte

Required Qualifications:
• Strong experience with QuickBooks Online
• Ability to generate and interpret cash flow reports
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping workflows
• Knowledge of US tax system, especially as it relates to small businesses and S Corporations
• Experience with Lacerte or similar tax software is a strong plus
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills:
• Experience with multi entity bookkeeping
• Familiarity with payroll systems such as Gusto
• Understanding of sales tax and local tax requirements
• Ability to set up and optimize QuickBooks Online accounts including chart of accounts and automation rules
• Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting
• Knowledge of handling loan accounts, fixed assets, and depreciation tracking
• Experience preparing books for year end and CPA or tax filing handoff
