Part-Time Bookkeeper / Profit Tracker — E-commerce (Remote)
Location: Remote
Type: Part-time · Flexible hours · Ongoing
Compensation $500
About us
We're a growing direct-to-consumer e-commerce brand running paid advertising across multiple markets. We move fast and spend daily on ads and inventory, so we need someone who can keep a clear, accurate, up-to-date picture of the money — what's coming in, what's going out, and what we're actually keeping.
The role
We're looking for a detail-oriented, reliable person to own our day-to-day financial tracking. You'll keep our expenses organised, track our real daily profit, and give us clear regular reports so we always know exactly where the business stands. This isn't strategy or forecasting — it's accurate, consistent tracking and reporting we can trust.
What you'll do
Track daily revenue, ad spend, cost of goods, shipping, fees, and other expenses
Calculate true daily and weekly profit (accrual-based — matching costs to the day of sale, not just when cash lands)
Keep a clean, organised record of all business expenses
Produce clear, consistent reports — daily snapshots and a weekly summary — in a format we agree on
Flag anything unusual: unexpected cost spikes, margin drops, discrepancies
Reconcile figures across our sales platform, ad accounts, and payment processors
Keep everything accurate and up to date without needing to be chased
What we're looking for
Experience with bookkeeping, financial tracking, or e-commerce accounting
Comfortable working with Shopify, Meta/Google ad spend data, and spreadsheets (or tools like TripleWhale)
Strong attention to detail — the numbers have to be right
Understands the difference between cash-basis and accrual-basis profit, and why payout timing isn't the same as profit
Self-directed and dependable — delivers reports on schedule without reminders
Clear communicator who can present numbers simply
Discreet and trustworthy with sensitive financial information
Nice to have
Experience with DTC / paid-ads businesses specifically
Familiarity with profit-tracking tools (TripleWhale, Lifetimely, BeProfit, or similar)
Understanding of COGS, contribution margin, and blended vs true profit
Hours & commitment
Part-time and flexible — this is a recurring role (likely [X hours/week] or a set daily/weekly reporting rhythm). Long-term, with room to grow as the business does.
To apply
Send a short note about your relevant experience, what tools you've used for e-commerce financial tracking, and your availability and rate. If you've done daily profit tracking for a DTC brand before, tell us about it — that's exactly what we need.
A few things to fill in or d
Rate/hours — I left placeholders. D
How much you want to reveal — I kept the brand unnamed and markets vague, consistent with how you've done other posts. Good for filtering before disclosing specifics.
Scope boundary — I deliberately framed it as tracking and reporting, not strategy/forecasting, so you attract a reliable numbers person rather than someone expecting to advise on the business. If you actually want someone more advisory (cash-flow planning, the credit-terms stuff we discussed), tell me and I'll widen it.
