JOB OVERVIEW

Evisory is a Brisbane-based accounting and advisory firm built for the hospitality industry. Our clients are cafés, restaurants, bars and venues – businesses where margins are tight and things move quickly if owners aren’t on top of their numbers.
We’re in our clients’ files every day, so their books are always current and they can make decisions on real numbers. Bookkeeping is the backbone of everything we do.

We’re looking for a Bookkeeper to look after the day-to-day books for a portfolio of hospitality clients. You’ll keep files reconciled and up to date, run payroll, prepare BAS/IAS for review, and be a friendly, reliable point of contact for clients’ questions. You’ll work alongside our accountants and report to the Director.

What you’ll do
▪ Reconcile bank, credit card and clearing accounts in Xero daily, keeping client files current
▪ Process supplier bills, receipts and sales data, including POS and delivery platform reconciliations
▪ Run weekly and fortnightly payroll, including STP, super and leave, with award-based wages
▪ Prepare BAS/IAS and payroll reconciliations for accountant review
▪ Keep client queries organised and send them out on a regular weekly cycle
▪ Help clean up and catch up files for new clients
▪ Flag anything unusual in the numbers to the accounting team early

What you’ll bring
▪ 5 years’ bookkeeping experience, ideally in an accounting practice
▪ Strong Xero skills, including bank feeds, reconciliations and payroll
▪ Working knowledge of GST, BAS and payroll compliance (STP, super, PAYG withholding)
▪ Great attention to detail and the ability to manage several client files at once
▪ Clear, friendly communication with business owners
▪ Highly regarded: hospitality client experience, award interpretation (e.g. Hospitality Industry General Award), POS and rostering integrations, e.g. Square, Lightspeed, Deputy.
