Position Overview:
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team and take ownership of our day-to-day financial operations. This role is essential to maintaining the accuracy, organization, and integrity of our financial records. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with numbers, has a strong sense of accountability, and can manage multiple financial tasks with precision and consistency.
As a Bookkeeper, you will play a key role in supporting the financial health of the organization by ensuring that all transactions are recorded properly and that accounts are kept up to date. You will work closely with management to provide clear visibility into financial performance and help ensure that all financial processes run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating financial records, including tracking daily transactions such as income, expenses, and payments. You will handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring invoices are issued accurately and payments are collected and recorded in a timely manner. Regular reconciliation of bank and credit card statements will be part of your routine to ensure all records align correctly.
You will also assist with payroll processing, maintain organized financial documentation, and prepare periodic financial reports that provide insight into the company’s financial position. Attention to detail is critical, as you will be expected to identify discrepancies and resolve them efficiently. Additionally, you will help ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and internal procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have prior experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting role, along with a solid understanding of basic accounting principles. Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms is important, as well as comfort working with spreadsheets and digital financial tools.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential in this role, as you will be handling multiple responsibilities at once. You should also demonstrate a high level of discretion and professionalism when working with sensitive financial information.
While not required, a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, as well as any bookkeeping certifications, would be considered an asset.
