JOB OVERVIEW

# Blog Publisher & Content Editor for Photography Company ($5/hr)

$5/hour to start, with room for growth and added responsibilities for the right person.

Please read this entire post before applying.

We are NOT looking for someone who copies and pastes content into WordPress.

We are NOT looking for someone who generates generic AI articles and calls themselves a writer.

We are NOT looking for someone who needs constant supervision.

We ARE looking for someone who can take ownership of a blog post from draft to publication while protecting the voice of the brand.

To prove you read this entire post, begin your application with the word: WITNESSED

## About Us

We are a photography company based in New Jersey serving the New York and New Jersey area.

We photograph corporate headshots, personal branding sessions, corporate events, weddings, engagements, and proposals.

We publish a large amount of content and need someone who can help transform raw material into polished, professional blog posts that people actually enjoy reading.

## What You'll Be Doing

* Publishing blog posts in WordPress
* Editing content for grammar, clarity, flow, and readability
* Improving weak or awkward writing
* Maintaining a consistent brand voice
* Formatting articles for desktop and mobile readers
* Creating SEO titles and meta descriptions
* Writing image alt text
* Uploading and organizing images
* Adding internal links
* Formatting headings properly
* Embedding videos when appropriate
* Following publishing checklists and SOPs
* Occasionally writing sections of blog posts from notes, transcripts, outlines, or rough drafts
* Helping identify opportunities to improve existing content

## The Most Important Requirement

Writing ability.

WordPress can be taught.

SEO can be taught.

Writing instinct is much harder to teach.

Many people can summarize what happened.

Far fewer can make the reader feel like they were there.

For example:

"The bride was emotional during the first look with her father."

That is a summary.

A stronger writer notices details, reactions, expressions, body language, timing, and human behavior.

If that distinction makes immediate sense to you, keep reading.

## What We're Looking For

You should be:

* An excellent English writer
* Detail-oriented
* Reliable and organized
* Comfortable receiving feedback
* Able to follow systems and checklists
* Comfortable working independently
* Familiar with WordPress
* Familiar with basic SEO concepts

Bonus points if you have experience with:

* Showit
* Yoast SEO
* Rank Math
* ChatGPT
* Corporate content
* Wedding content
* Photography-related businesses

## This Is Not a Data Entry Job

We are not hiring someone to move content from one place to another.

We are hiring someone who can improve content before it goes live.

We want someone who catches mistakes, spots opportunities, and takes pride in publishing work that is polished and professional.

## Application Instructions

Please send:

1. A short introduction about yourself
2. Your WordPress experience
3. Examples of blog posts you have written
4. Examples of blog posts you have published
5. Your SEO experience
6. Your internet speed
7. The word WITNESSED at the top of your application

## The Application That Actually Matters

Most applicants will tell us they are great writers.

This is how we d ---------- .

### Question 1

Rewrite this sentence in 2-3 sentences:

"The bride was emotional during the first look with her father."

Stay inside the ---------- nt as it's described. Don't invent new events or change the scene, but show us what someone standing there would actually see.

Then explain in one sentence what was wrong with the original version.

### Question 2

You receive:

* A 1,500-word article
* 25 images
* A list of internal links
* A publishing checklist

Walk us through exactly how you would prepare, edit, optimize, format, and publish that article from start to finish.

Be specific.

### Question 3

What is one thing that separates good writing from bad writing?

There is no perfect answer. We simply want to understand how you think.

## Final Note

We care far more about quality than speed.

We would rather publish one excellent article than five mediocre ones.

If you're the type of person who notices small details, enjoys making content better, and takes pride in producing polished work, we'd love to hear from you.
