Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing and Claims Assistant to support our billing operations within the ABA therapy space. This role is responsible for assisting with insurance claims processing, payment posting, eligibility verification, and resolving billing discrepancies. The ideal candidate has experience working with ABA providers, understands the insurance billing lifecycle, and can manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and compliance. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate professionally with internal teams and insurance payers are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, submit, and track insurance claims for ABA therapy services.
Review claims for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
Follow up with insurance companies on unpaid or denied claims.
Assist with claim corrections, resubmissions, and appeals when necessary.
Post insurance and patient payments accurately into the billing system.
Reconcile billing reports and assist with identifying discrepancies.
Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits as needed.
Maintain accurate billing records and documentation in accordance with company policies and payer requirements.
Communicate with internal teams regarding claim status, missing documentation, or billing updates.
Assist with maintaining organized records of authorizations, claims, and payment history.
Support the billing team with administrative tasks and reporting.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle support, preferably in ABA therapy or behavioral health.
Familiarity with insurance claims processes, EOBs, and denial management.
Experience working with Medicaid, commercial insurance, or behavioral health payers is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial and patient data.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with billing software, EHR systems, and Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
