We make short-form video ads and need a BILINGUAL (Japanese + English) video editor who is genuinely good at editing.
IMPORTANT: You must actually speak Japanese AND English. In your application, please state your real Japanese level (e.g. native, JLPT N1/N2, business, conversational) - applications that don't mention a genuine Japanese level will be skipped.
IMPORTANT: You MUST include links to your portfolio or past video editing work (2-3 samples). Applications with NO work samples / no track record will be skipped.
We give you footage/assets, a script, and reference videos. You edit them into a polished ad that matches the intended style and pacing - clean cuts, good timing, captions/subtitles, and on-screen text that reads naturally in both Japanese and English.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Edit short-form video ads (cuts, pacing, transitions, timing)
- Add and time captions/subtitles in Japanese and English
- Match a reference video's style, structure, and pacing
- Handle on-screen text and localization accurately across both languages
- Deliver polished ads on a fast, roughly one-per-day cadence
YOU'RE A FIT IF YOU:
- Genuinely speak Japanese AND English
- Have a strong eye for pacing, timing, and clean edits
- Move fast and apply feedback without repeating the same mistakes
- Take ownership of the final video quality
THE PAID TEST:
A short paid demo edit. We give you the footage, a reference ad, and a script, and you deliver a polished edit. If it's strong and fast, we move into ongoing daily work.
TO APPLY, SEND:
1. 2-3 of your best video editing samples (links)
2. The editing software/tools you use
3. Your usual turnaround time for one short ad
4. Your REAL Japanese and English level
5. Answer this so we know you read the post: what's the first thing you check in a reference video before recreating it?
