Position Overview
Role: Barber Video Editor
Schedule: Part-time, starting at 3 to 6 hours per week, with plans to ramp up to 10 to 15 hours per week.
Hours & Availability: Communication and collaboration line up with US Eastern Time (Monday–Wednesday all day, Thursday–Friday 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM EST; weekends off unless an urgent exception arises).
Compensation: $6.00 / hour
About the Role
We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented video editor who understands the craft of men's grooming and barbering. You will transform raw raw footage into clean, high-performing short-form videos optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and
Your job is to highlight precision cutting, crisp lines, and satisfying transformations while maintaining a fast, engaging visual pace.
Key Responsibilities & Editing Style
Pacing & Structure: Edit raw footage (typically 15 to 30 minutes long) down to a tight, high-impact final video between 45 seconds to 1 minute and 10 seconds. Maintain a fast, even 3 to 4-second hook-and-flow pace.
Chronological Flow & Framing:
Start with the debulk and guidelines.
Show the fade steps in chronological order
Capture key detailing
End with a clean final showcase.
Enhancements & Color Grading: Apply color grading skills to make the haircut pop. Ensure the ash line created during the line-up is visually enhanced and pops clearly in post-production.
Software Flexibility: Use whatever video editing software gets the job done efficiently (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, or equivalent).
Workflow & Deliverables
Volume: 4 to 7 finished videos per week (starting at 3–6 hours weekly, scaling to 10–15 hours).
Source Material: Raw footage will be uploaded to a shared Google Drive every Monday.
Turnaround Time: Completed edits are due back in the shared drive by Sunday of that same week.
Required Qualifications & Software
Proven experience editing short-form content (TikTok, IG Reels, YouTube Shorts).
Familiarity with barbering, fading, and hair-cutting visuals (bonus if you have edited barber or beauty content before).
Proficiency in color grading and audio/visual trimming.
Reliable high-speed internet to upload and download large video files via Google Drive.
