JOB OVERVIEW

We are a U.S.-based used automotive parts company seeking a resourceful automotive researcher to locate donor vehicles and complete photo sets for customers buying used engines and transmissions.

This is task-based, ongoing work. Compensation is **$5 USD per successfully completed and accepted photo set**.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

We will provide assignments such as:

2018 Ford F-150
5.0L Engine
Target Mileage: 52,000
Acceptable Mileage: 50,000–54,000

Your job is to research the correct interchange, locate a compatible donor vehicle as close as possible to the target mileage, and provide a complete photo set.

AUTOMOTIVE INTERCHANGE IS IMPORTANT

Do NOT simply search the customer's exact model year.

First use ---------- to determine the correct interchange for the requested engine or transmission. A part may interchange with multiple model years or applications.

Search all valid interchange years/applications to find the best donor.

However, the donor MUST have the exact engine or transmission required. If the assignment requires a 4.0L engine, a similar vehicle with a different engine is not acceptable.

MILEAGE MATCHING

You must locate the closest possible mileage within the range we provide.

Example:

Target: 52,000
Allowed: 50,000–54,000

A donor with 51,900 miles is preferable to one with 53,800 miles.

Do not submit a donor outside the specified mileage range without approval.

SAME DONOR VEHICLE REQUIREMENT

This is extremely important.

ALL photographs submitted for an assignment must belong to the SAME donor vehicle.

Do NOT combine an odometer from one vehicle, an engine bay from another vehicle, and exterior photographs from another.

We normally need:

• Odometer/instrument cluster showing mileage
• Engine bay
• Front of vehicle
• Rear of vehicle
• Driver side
• Passenger side
• Additional useful photographs when available
• Original source/listing information

You may research using:

• ----------
• Salvage yard websites
• Copart
• IAA
• Automotive auction websites
• Google / Google Images
• Archived auction listings
• Other automotive inventory sources

ENGINES & TRANSMISSIONS ONLY

This position is specifically for used engine and transmission research.

Experience with ---------- , Hollander Interchange, salvage yards, auto recycling, used engines/transmissions, Copart, IAA, or automotive auctions is strongly preferred.

PAY

$5 USD for each successfully completed and accepted photo set.

Multiple assignments may be available each day. Someone who becomes efficient at this research can complete multiple paid assignments per day.

Selected applicants will receive a small paid practical test using a real research assignment. Successful test assignments are paid at the normal $5 rate.
