JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role
Best One Insurance is hiring an Automation Specialist to design, build, and maintain the automated workflows that keep our agency running efficiently. You'll work directly with Claude Code and AI agents to eliminate manual busywork across our CRM, communications, and back-office systems — freeing our team to focus on clients instead of data entry. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who thinks like a developer and builds like an operator.
What You'll Do
• Build and maintain automation workflows using Claude Code and other AI agent frameworks to handle repetitive tasks across the agency
• Design and manage CRM automations — lead routing, follow-up sequences, data syncing, and pipeline updates — inside our agency management system
• Integrate multiple communication channels, including email, SMS, phone, and chat, into unified, automated workflows
• Write and maintain scripts, API integrations, and custom tools that connect our software stack
• Monitor automations for errors, troubleshoot failures, and continuously improve reliability and speed
• Create and maintain SOPs (standard operating procedures) and clear documentation for every automated workflow, so non-technical team members can follow, troubleshoot, and scale them
• Partner with agency leadership to identify new opportunities for automation and efficiency gains
What You'll Need
• Proven experience as a developer or automation engineer (professional or advanced personal projects)
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code, or a comparable AI coding/agent tool, and a strong grasp of how AI agents work
• Experience automating CRM systems — building workflows, integrations, or custom logic inside a CRM or agency management platform
• Experience integrating multiple communication channels (email, SMS, voice, chat) into a single automated system
• Comfort working with APIs, webhooks, and no-code/low-code automation platforms (e.g., Zapier, Make) alongside custom code
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight
• Clear written communication — you'll need to explain technical work to non-technical teammates
Bonus Points
• Experience working in or with the insurance industry — you understand agency workflows, carrier systems, or insurance CRMs (e.g., AgencyZoom, QQ Catalyst, Quoterush, or similar)
• Familiarity with insurance compliance and data-handling requirements
• Experience building automations for sales or service teams in a regulated industry
