JOB OVERVIEW

The Bungalow Design & Rendering is looking for an experienced Architectural Designer / Revit Documenter with strong experience working on Australian residential projects.

This is a project-based freelance role, not a full-time monthly position.

We are expanding our residential design services and are looking for a reliable professional who can assist us on individual projects as they are awarded.

Typical projects may include:

> Residential renovations
> Internal layout alterations
> House extensions and additions
> Granny flats / secondary dwellings
> New residential homes
> Duplexes and small residential developments
> Concept design
> DA / planning documentation
> Building approval documentation
> Construction documentation

We are initially focusing on smaller residential renovation and alteration projects, with the opportunity to work on larger projects as our residential workload increases.

What We Need

You should have proven experience producing residential documentation for Australian projects.

You must be comfortable working relatively independently and understanding Australian residential construction and documentation standards.

Experience should ideally include:

> Australian residential architecture or building design
> Revit
> Existing and proposed floor plans
> Site plans
> Roof plans
> Elevations
> Building sections
> Internal elevations
> Door and window schedules
> Construction details
> Wet-area documentation
> Interior Design documentation
> Residential extensions and renovations
> DA / planning drawing packages
> Building approval / construction documentation
> Consultant coordination
> NCC requirements
> Australian construction methods and drawing conventions

Experience with Queensland, Victoria, and/or New South Wales residential projects is highly regarded.

Important

We are not looking for a general VA or basic Revit modeller.

We need someone who understands how an Australian residential project should actually be documented and who can identify missing information, potential construction issues and documentation requirements.

Strong residential design and space-planning ability will also be highly regarded.

Project-Based Arrangement

This position will be paid per project or per agreed project stage.

For example:

> Existing conditions / Revit setup
> Concept design
> Design development
> DA documentation
> Building approval documentation
> Construction documentation

Before commencing each project, we will provide the project brief and agree on:

> Scope
> Deliverables
> Deadline
> Fixed project fee

There is potential for regular ongoing projects for the right person, but there is no required monthly commitment.

How to Apply

Please include the following in your application:

1. How many years have you worked on Australian residential projects?
2. Which Australian states have you worked in?
3. What types of residential projects have you completed?
4. Are you experienced with Revit?
5. Have you prepared complete DA, building approval or construction documentation sets?
6. Please provide examples of actual residential drawing/documentation sets, not only renders.
7. Please explain exactly what parts of those projects you personally completed.
8. What is your preferred payment structure for project-based work?
9. Please provide an approximate fixed-fee range for a small residential renovation documentation project.
10. What is your typical availability and turnaround time?

Please start your application with the words “AU Residential” so we know you have read the complete job description.

We are looking for someone who can become a trusted long-term residential documentation partner for our studio as this side of the business grows.
