- Draft new legal documents, notices and contractual terms when required.
- Maintain the privacy policy, cookie policy, website terms, software terms and other customer-facing legal documentation.
- Review data-processing terms, processor clauses, controller-to-controller arrangements and data-processing agreements.
- Ensure documentation reflects relevant GDPR, Irish data-protection and EU legal requirements.
- Review provisions covering international data transfers, subprocessors, data retention, security responsibilities and data-subject rights.
- Assess whether the legal documents accurately reflect how the software collects, uses, stores, shares and deletes personal data.
- Work with the product and technical teams to understand platform functionality, integrations and data flows.
- Identify inconsistencies, outdated wording, missing disclosures and areas of legal or regulatory risk.
- Monitor material legal and regulatory developments affecting software, privacy, cookies, electronic communications and digital services.
- Maintain version-controlled records of amendments and provide a concise explanation of significant changes.
- Participate in a weekly meeting to discuss the platform, upcoming product changes and documentation priorities.
- Clearly identify matters that require specialist legal advice or a decision from management.
*Essential experience and qualifications*
- Qualified solicitor, barrister or appropriately licensed legal professional in Ireland or another EU jurisdiction.
- Demonstrable experience with GDPR and Irish or EU data-protection law.
- Experience drafting or reviewing legal documents for software, SaaS, technology or online-service businesses.
- Strong knowledge of privacy policies, cookie documentation, software terms and data-processing agreements.
- Ability to understand software functionality and translate operational practices into accurate legal language.
- Excellent written English and the ability to produce clear, reader-friendly documents.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Availability for approximately 10–15 hours per week and for a scheduled weekly meeting.
