Assistant Property Manager
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Pacific Time, with a 30-minute unpaid break (graveyard shift)
Salary: $1,000 per month
Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our properties. This role includes answering inbound calls, speaking with potential applicants and current tenants, and providing basic information about the property and rental rates. The Assistant Property Manager will also use AppFolio to input tenant information, follow up on collections, and schedule maintenance requests or property tours as needed. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while ensuring a professional and positive experience for all callers and tenants.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer incoming calls, communicating professionally with potential applicants and current tenants
Provide basic property and rental rate information (training will be provided)
Assist with daily property operations, including tenant communications, maintenance coordination, and lease administration
Respond to tenant inquiries, requests, and concerns in a professional and timely manner
Coordinate repairs and maintenance with vendors and contractors, ensuring work is completed efficiently
Support lease processing: prepare documents, schedule property viewings, assist with move-ins and move-outs
Monitor rent payments, assist in tracking delinquencies, and generate payment reminders when necessary
Use AppFolio to input tenant information, follow up on collections, schedule maintenance requests or property tours as needed
Maintain accurate records of leases, transactions, maintenance logs, and other documentation
Assist in preparing reports, budgets, and expense tracking for the Property Manager
Help manage listings and advertising for vacant units
Ensure compliance with property policies, lease terms, and relevant local regulations
Contribute to a positive tenant experience and overall property performance
Qualifications:
Prior experience in property management, leasing, or administrative roles preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to speak clearly and professionally in English when handling calls
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Basic understanding of lease agreements, property operations, and tenant relations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with AppFolio
Ability to coordinate maintenance and vendor services, and manage multiple requests in a timely manner
Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a customer-service-oriented mindset
