About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Technical Designer to support a boutique U.S.-based interior design firm specializing in high-end finishes, customized spaces, and luxury residential interiors.

Although the client is an interior design firm—not an architectural practice—this role requires the technical foundation of an experienced residential architectural designer or drafter. You must be able to translate creative interior design concepts into accurate, buildable technical drawings, schedules, details, and 3D renderings.

This is a senior, design-focused, and client-facing position—not a general CAD production role. Direct experience producing technical drawings for U.S.-based architectural or interior design firms is required.

You will also communicate with U.S.-based designers, architects, contractors, consultants, vendors, fabricators, and millworkers. At times, you will represent the interior design firm in project-related conversations, making excellent spoken and written English essential.

What You’ll Do
Create and revise detailed technical drawings for luxury residential interiors
Translate design concepts, sketches, measurements, photographs, markups, and verbal direction into professional drawing sets
Prepare floor plans, elevations, section drawings, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, and lighting and electrical layouts
Develop detailed finish schedules and plumbing schedules
Produce drawings for custom cabinetry, millwork, built-ins, kitchens, bathrooms, vanities, closets, furniture, and architectural woodwork
Apply practical knowledge of residential construction, materials, fabrication, woodworking, and installation
Create accurate 3D models and polished renderings
Coordinate revisions with designers, architects, contractors, consultants, vendors, and fabricators
Participate in project calls and communicate professionally with external project partners
Review drawings for dimensions, scale, constructability, accuracy, consistency, and completeness
Identify missing information and potential problems before they affect the project
Manage multiple projects and revisions while meeting deadlines
Required Experience and Qualifications
At least four years of relevant architectural drafting, technical design, or interior architecture experience
Direct experience supporting U.S.-based architectural, interior design, or residential design firms
Strong residential architectural drafting background
Experience supporting high-end or luxury residential interior projects
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
Strong working experience with Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, and 3D rendering software
Experience producing professional U.S. residential construction-document packages
Experience preparing floor plans, elevations, section drawings, finish schedules, and plumbing schedules
Experience detailing cabinetry, millwork, built-ins, kitchens, bathrooms, and custom furniture
Strong understanding of residential construction, dimensions, scale, materials, finishes, and space planning
Ability to understand both technical requirements and the designer’s aesthetic intent
Excellent spoken and written English
Confidence communicating directly with U.S.-based project professionals
Strong attention to detail, organization, reliability, and responsiveness
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team
Availability to work full-time during U.S. business hours
A portfolio demonstrating relevant residential architectural and interior design work

An architectural license is not required. Your U.S. residential experience, technical ability, design sensibility, portfolio, and communication skills are more important.

Candidates without a strong architectural drafting background or direct U.S. residential project experience will not be considered.
