JOB OVERVIEW

We are a premium ballroom dance studio based in Richmond, Virginia. We help adults build confidence, connection, and joy through dance.

We are hiring a phone-based appointment setter to follow up with leads and book intro lessons.

This is not a general VA role — this is a phone + people + light sales role.

What You’ll Do:
Call and text new leads who won a free dance lesson through a contest
Follow up with no-shows and past leads
Guide conversations and turn interest into commitment
Book intro lessons into our schedule
Confirm appointments and reduce cancellations
Update notes clearly in our CRM
Important Context:

Most leads come from a contest giveaway, so:

Some are excited
Some are unsure
Some are distracted

Your role is to build excitement, create comfort, and help them d ---------- to come in.

What Success Looks Like:
Leads are contacted quickly (5–10 minutes when possible)
Conversations feel natural and professional (not scripted)
You confidently guide people to a scheduled time
Booked students show up for their lesson
30 leads booked in each week (270 by the beginning of July)

This Role Requires:
Excellent spoken English (clear, confident, natural)
Strong phone presence (this is the main job)
Ability to guide conversations (not just answer questions)
Confidence handling hesitation:
“I’m busy”
“I’ll think about it”
“Maybe later”
Friendly, warm, and persistent personality
Ability to work U.S. business hours (EST)
Reliable internet + quiet workspace
Pay:
$10/hour
20 hours per week
Opportunity for increased hours + bonuses based on performance (booked + attended lessons)
IMPORTANT – TO APPLY:
Send a 1-minute voice recording as if you are calling someone who:
Won a free dance lesson
Sounds a little unsure
You want to get them booked this week
Answer this question:
“How do you respond when someone says they are too busy?”

Applications without a voice recording will not be considered.
